This role reports to the Senior Brand Manager for Mr D.

Purpose of the role:
The Brand Manager will work within the Brand & Communications team, collaborating closely with content and design teams and external advertising and media agencies to coordinate and manage assigned brand projects and go-to-market campaigns.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Generating campaigns and brand communications that create an enduring, consistent & engaging brand message, grow brand equity, consistently present our brand’s reputation positively in the competitive retail and e-commerce marketplace, and drive growth through a razor-sharp focus on our customer.
  • Support Senior Brand Manager on coordination and execution of all multi-channel campaigns, working closely with external advertising & media planning agencies to execute the annual Brand & Communications strategy that delivers consistent on-brand messaging through all communication touch-points.
  • Take the lead on coordinating the execution of partnership-led marketing campaigns,activation events and projects (Anchor Promotions, Brand Campaigns, Tactical Campaigns, Events and Sponsorship where necessary) keeping marketing channel managers aligned to deliver a consistent brand message and coordinating post-campaign reporting to analyse results
  • Responsible for assisting the Senior Brand Manager with TakealotMORE campaigns, planning and overseeing execution thereof“ marketing input.
  • Work closely with the Social Media, Content and Category Marketing teams where applicable to ensure the brand remains relevant and top of mind by leveraging consumer agenda and marketing trends to increase brand equity. Oversee content calendars across all channels and analytical reporting to ensure brand targets are met, implementing brand performance-based metrics to establish consistent positive customer engagement across all touchpoints.
  • Assist the Senior Brand Manager with collating results & sharing reports post campaigns to measure the effectiveness highlighting areas of weaknesses or conflicting messages with tangible steps to improve
  • Project management & coordination of brand extension projects: such as TakealotMORE, key partnerships and New Area expansions Developing brand identities, strategies and go-to-market campaign ideas for new businesses.
  • Working closely with the Senior Brand Manager and other divisions (e.g.Creative Studio, Sales Marketplace,operations, etc) as required to manage all aspects to ensure the correct briefing, approvals and sign off are obtained before the campaign goes live. Developing and sustaining strong working relationships with all brand stakeholders, from CEO to Customer Service agents

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Studies or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in-house in a brand marketing team - ideally as a brand manager.
  • Expert knowledge about marketing and related subjects (advertising, market research, consumer behavior, marketing analytics) culled from years of hands-on experience in the industry and in the marketing field
  • Experience in identifying target audiences and devising campaigns that engage, inform and motivate.
