Join Hunter Douglas Europe as a Finance Intern! We are recruiting for 4 interns to join our Finance team based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. We have opportunities across Accounts Receivable, Financial Systems, and Financial Controlling, starting January 2026 for 6 months.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE INTERN
Are you ready to gain valuable experience in finance within a global business? Could you make an impact on our Accounts Receivable processes and contribute to month-end closing activities? Join Hunter Douglas Europe as a Finance Intern and gain hands-on experience in client contact, process automation, and financial reconciliations. You’ll collaborate with Controllership, Accounts Receivable, Global Business Services (GBS), and IT to drive improvements and support key financial operations. This internship is for 6 months starting in January 2026.
What You’ll Do
- Client Contact (~3 days/week): Proactively reach out to customers regarding overdue items, record agreements, and track follow-ups to resolution.
- Debt-Collection Automation: Contribute to SAP dunning (FI/SD) and DealerConnect notifications; write requirements, test changes, and manage tickets.
- Month-End Closing (MEC): Assist with journal preparation/posting (e.g., accruals, provisions), aging analyses, and reconciliations.
- Balance-Sheet Reconciliations: Review and clean items; coordinate with GBS on netting debtor/customer accounts; maintain action and control logs.
- Reporting & Tooling: Prepare AR/KAM overviews (open items, disputes) and identify automation opportunities.
What We’re Looking For
- Fluent in Dutch, with confident phone and email communication skills.
- Proactive, eager to learn, and adaptable—you take initiative and suggest improvements.
- Currently studying Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics (Bachelor/Master level).
- Working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, lookups); SAP experience is a plus.
- Interest in process improvement and IT is welcomed.
- Available to work in our Rotterdam offices 3 days a week, and 2 from home

FINANCE REPORTING & SYSTERMS
Are you passionate about data, automation, and financial systems? We’re looking for a Finance Reporting & Systems Intern to join our dynamic Finance team and support our mission to improve data visibility and reporting across the business for 6 months from January 2026.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in automating financial reporting processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Support data extraction, transformation, and visualization for commercial finance analysis.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to refine KPIs and reporting frameworks.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and help integrate new reporting tools.
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen interest in automation.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with Power BI, SQL, or Python is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English; other European languages are a bonus
- Working in a hybrid environment – with 3 days at our Rotterdam office and 2 days from home

FINANCIAL CONTROLLERSHIP INTERN
As a Controllership Intern, you will work closely with Controllers and Finance professionals to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and reporting efficiency across our regional entities. This internship is designed for students or recent graduates eager to explore a career in financial control, accounting, or corporate finance in an international environment.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in collecting, organizing, and validating financial data from EMEA reporting units, alongside track and report on key compliance metrics.
- Help ensure completeness and accuracy of data submitted for monthly and quarterly close cycles.
- Support the preparation of management reports, variance analyses, and financial summaries.
- Assist in maintaining documentation for internal controls (SOX and other frameworks).
- Support audit preparation and follow-up by gathering and organizing evidence and reports.
- Contribute to initiatives that aim to streamline financial reporting and data consolidation processes.
- Learn how automation tools and digital reporting platforms (e.g., SAP, Power BI, AI) are used within the finance function.
- Suggest improvements to document organization or reporting templates
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial systems like SAP or reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Eagerness to learn and apply new skills in a corporate environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English (other EMEA languages are an advantage).
- Team-oriented, reliable, and proactive attitude.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
