The Role
As a Purchasing Administration Intern, you will primarily perform administrative tasks to support the Buyers and the Purchasing Manager. You will be involved in supplier data management, order processing, correspondence, and documentation, gaining hands-on experience in procurement operations in a professional, structured environment. The internship will begin in early July.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the supplier database, including contracts, pricing agreements, delivery terms, and supplier reliability
- Manage a documentation center containing supplier information such as product range, pricing level, capacity, turnover, and representations
- Provide internal employees with information on orders, delivery times, and related topics
- Process and handle purchase proposals and purchase orders generated by the automated system
- Assist Buyers with more complex purchasing activities
- Check and verify order confirmations
- Identify and report notable developments, such as price changes, to the Buyers or Purchasing Manager
- Receive, sort, and handle incoming correspondence
- Prepare standard correspondence and support the preparation of additional communication
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail
- Maintain and monitor the calendars of the Purchasing team members
Who You Are
- You are currently enrolled in an MBO, HBO, Bachelor’s, or comparable education in Business
- Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field
- You have an interest in purchasing, procurement, or administrative support roles
- You are comfortable working with administrative systems and digital tools
What You Bring
- A structured and accurate working style with strong attention to detail
- Affinity with administrative processes and documentation
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email)
- Ability to work with ERP and business information systems (e.g. SAP) is a plus
- Good communication skills and a proactive mindset
- Ability to work with Copilot and other AI platforms
- Ability to work according to guidelines while managing files and documentation independently
- Willingness to signal errors or notable developments to relevant stakeholders
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); Dutch is a plus
