Job Summary:

We are seeking a visionary and high-impact Senior Director, Industry Marketing to lead our global Healthcare & Life Sciences (HLS) strategy while serving as the leader of Talkdesk's Industry Marketing function.

Talkdesk is redefining the future of customer experience through Customer Experience Automation (CXA) — a new category that combines AI agents, human experts, automation, and industry-specific intelligence to automate and optimize customer journeys from start to finish. As organizations move beyond traditional contact centers toward AI-powered workforces, this role will play a critical part in shaping how Talkdesk brings that vision to market across industries.

The successful candidate will serve as the executive industry strategist for Healthcare & Life Sciences and lead a team of Industry Marketers responsible for Financial Services, Retail, and Public Sector. Working closely with Product, Sales, Analyst Relations, Customer Success, and Corporate Marketing, this leader will define industry strategy, influence product direction, develop market-leading thought leadership, and drive pipeline growth across strategic verticals.

This role requires a unique combination of healthcare domain expertise, AI and automation market awareness, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of translating emerging technology trends into compelling business outcomes for enterprise buyers.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Industry Marketing Leadership

  • Lead and develop the global Industry Marketing team, including direct management of industry leaders responsible for Financial Services, Retail, and Public Sector.
  • Establish a unified industry marketing strategy that balances cross-industry messaging with vertical-specific market requirements.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify emerging market opportunities, industry priorities, and strategic investments.

Customer Experience Automation (CXA) Category Leadership

  • Help define, evangelize, and expand the Customer Experience Automation (CXA) category across key industries.
  • Develop industry-specific AI and automation narratives that position Talkdesk as the leader in agentic customer experience and AI-powered workforce transformation.
  • Partner closely with Product and Strategy teams to influence roadmap priorities based on industry trends, customer needs, regulatory requirements, and competitive dynamics.
  • Represent Talkdesk externally as an industry thought leader through analyst engagements, conferences, customer advisory boards, media opportunities, and executive presentations.

Healthcare & Life Sciences Industry Ownership

  • Serve as the primary industry expert for Healthcare & Life Sciences, driving positioning, messaging, content strategy, customer advocacy, analyst engagement, and pipeline generation.
  • Develop differentiated strategies for providers, payers, pharmaceutical organizations, life sciences companies, and emerging healthcare segments.
  • Translate evolving healthcare regulations, patient expectations, and AI adoption trends into actionable go-to-market strategies.

 

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing, industry marketing, solution marketing, or go-to-market leadership within enterprise software, SaaS, cloud, AI, or digital transformation markets.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing industry-focused go-to-market strategies for enterprise organizations.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams, including direct management of senior individual contributors and industry marketing professionals.
  • Strong track record partnering with Product, Sales, Analyst Relations, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership to influence strategy and drive business outcomes.

Industry Expertise

  • Deep understanding of the Healthcare and Life Sciences market, including providers, payers, pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance frameworks, and industry trends, including HIPAA, HITRUST, patient privacy requirements, and emerging AI governance considerations.
  • Ability to translate industry-specific challenges into compelling business value propositions, thought leadership, and market strategies.

AI, Automation, and Market Strategy

  • Experience bringing innovative technology solutions to market, including AI, automation, customer experience, workflow orchestration, cloud platforms, or enterprise software.
  • Strong understanding of how AI is reshaping industries and the ability to articulate strategic market opportunities to customers, analysts, partners, and executives.
  • Experience contributing to category creation, market development, industry transformation initiatives, or thought leadership programs is highly desirable.

Leadership & Communication

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to engage audiences ranging from frontline practitioners to C-suite executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead across complex matrixed organizations without direct authority.
  • Comfortable serving as an external spokesperson with analysts, media, industry associations, customers, and conference audiences.

Execution & Growth Mindset

  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments while balancing strategic planning with operational execution.
  • Strong analytical and business acumen, with experience measuring impact through pipeline contribution, market penetration, customer adoption, and revenue growth.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation, industry transformation, and continuous improvement.

 

Pay Range (Base Salary):   $203,000- $304,000

Other Types of Pay: Based on level and role the employee may be eligible for long term incentives in the form of equity and short term incentives of either bonus or commission. 

Health Insurance: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability Insurance, Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

Retirement Benefits: 401(k) plan

Paid Time Off: Talkdesk offers an uncapped paid time off program for exempt employees and an accrual-based program for non-exempt employees; both are subject to manager approval and consistent with business needs.

Paid Holidays: Talkdesk offers 14 paid holidays each year. 

Paid Sick Leave: Exempt employees have uncapped paid time off and non-exempt sick leave follows accrual standards; both are subject to manager approval and consistent with business needs.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Primarily office-environment work, extended periods of sitting or standing, computer-based work. Limited lifting, and equipment usage limited to computer-related equipment (keyboards, mouse, etc.)
