Marketing Operations Senior Manager

San Francisco

About the Role

Talkdesk competes in a fast-moving enterprise market where durable, efficient growth separates market leaders from companies that simply outspend their way to results. To win, Talkdesk needs a disciplined go-to-market engine: one where every investment translates directly into results, resources are deployed with precision, and strategy converts to flawless execution.

This role of Senior Manager of Marketing Operations is central to delivering on this need. Sitting at the bridge between high-level GTM strategy and day-to-day execution, you will ensure marketing investments directly drive pipeline and business growth. You will give leadership the strategic clarity needed to deploy resources for maximum return, while establishing the framework that clearly demonstrates marketing's full value.

You are at the center of the Marketing organization, partnering directly with the CMO, marketing leadership, campaign leads and project managers. While your peers manage the underlying martech systems, automation workflows and campaign requests, you will own the operational rhythms that power the department: fiscal planning, cross-functional program governance and actionable executive insights.

In practice, that means championing insights over information. You will look past reports and dashboards to uncover the root causes behind the numbers, analyzing full-funnel performance to guide what programs to scale, what to reduce and where the next dollar of investment should go. It means serving as the operational driver for the CMO's key strategic initiatives, translating annual priorities into structured execution roadmaps, milestone tracking and cross-functional accountability. It also means breaking down team silos to accelerate speed to market: rearchitecting workflows across creative, content, web, social, product marketing and demand gen to help the entire marketing organization operate with greater velocity.

What You'll Own

  • Executive Impact and Demonstrating Marketing Value: Build and lead the framework that articulates the strategic and commercial value of marketing to executive stakeholders. Connect marketing programs not only to pipeline generation, but to full-funnel velocity, deal acceleration, account progression and overall revenue contribution.
  • Actionable Insights over Reports: Deliver the interpretive layer that turns performance data into business decisions. Leverage our context and systems to develop the narrative behind the metrics. Diagnose full-funnel health, evaluate program efficiency, identify underperforming initiatives to discontinue, and provide data-backed answers to key questions about marketing investment and effectiveness.
  • Strategic Initiatives and Program Governance: Serve as the operational driver for high-visibility departmental priorities. From CMO priorities, build the operational roadmap, coordinate cross-functional dependencies, establish milestone tracking and drive execution through completion.
  • Fiscal Planning and Budget Optimization: Partner with marketing leadership to create and manage the annual and quarterly marketing budget and operating plan. Track plan performance across fiscal cycles, evaluate ROI across segments and motions and provide actionable reallocation recommendations to the leadership team to maximize return on spend.
  • Silo Elimination and Cross-Functional Speed: Redesign fragmented, multi-step handoffs between functions. Implement best practices, tools and AI capabilities to replace disconnected, multi-ticket intake processes with unified, streamlined campaign workflows that cut turnaround times while maintaining high quality.
  • Applied AI Enablement: Drive practical AI adoption across the marketing organization. Identify repetitive administrative bottlenecks and train marketing team members to leverage our AI tools and native capabilities in our platforms to accelerate marketing deliverables, develop deeper insights and empower self-service execution.

Who You Are

You operate with a high degree of autonomy and strategic ownership. When executive leadership defines the top priorities for the year, you do not need step-by-step instructions to make them happen. You translate high-level vision into structured programs, rally cross-functional teams around shared milestones, and maintain accountability through delivery. Context and goals come from your leadership; the execution, operational cadence and momentum are yours to lead.

You are invested in the success and credibility of the Marketing organization. You understand that dashboards and charts only matter if they drive better decisions. When leadership asks what is working, what should be discontinued or where to deploy the next dollar, you have the business acumen and full-funnel grasp to deliver the answer. You treat data as an executive narrative that demonstrates marketing’s total contribution to pipeline, revenue, and business growth.

You are a collaborative bridge-builder with the vision to challenge legacy workflows. Campaign leads, creative teams, content developers and field marketers are your primary stakeholders. You understand their day-to-day work well enough to see where multi-step handoffs and disjointed ticketing systems create operational drag. You build trust across disciplines, bring colleagues along through change and design streamlined workflows that help everyone execute with greater speed..

You are hands-on in the systems and committed to finishing what you start. You do not wait on dedicated data analysts or reporting teams to answer critical questions; you build what you need to answer questions and unlock insights. You continuously look for ways to make the broader department more effective, whether through practical AI adoption or structured planning frameworks. When you take on a major initiative or planning cycle, you manage dependencies, address friction points early and see the work through to concrete business impact.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 6 to 8+ years of experience across B2B technology marketing disciplines (such as Marketing Operations, Marketing Program Management, Integrated Campaigns or Demand Generation)
  • Demonstrated experience partnering directly with marketing executive leadership (CMO/VP) to translate data into strategic decisions and executive narratives
  • Proven track record creating, forecasting and reporting on multi-million dollar marketing operating plans and budgets
  • Strong program management foundation with experience running high-visibility departmental initiatives from planning through completion
  • Advanced hands-on proficiency in building the marketing analytics needed to deliver insights over information
  • Demonstrated success redesigning workflows, eliminating departmental silos and improving speed to market
  • Applied experience using modern AI tools and workflows to improve marketing productivity, along with a passion for coaching and upskilling colleagues
  • Deep understanding of B2B full-funnel mechanics, pipeline pacing and sales interlock

How We'll Measure Success

The through-line across all of it is strategic enablement: meshing the CMO's high-level priorities with on-the-ground realities into clear plans, meaningful measures and practical enablement that make those priorities come to life across the entire marketing team.

30 days: Initial onboarding and cross-functional relationship building are complete, with a working grasp of our environment. You are actively embedded in the ongoing fiscal planning cycle, absorbing historical context, understanding baseline spend and pipeline expectations and preparing to contribute without the pressure of full ownership yet.

60 days: A strategic performance insights briefing based on current-year results is delivered to the leadership team. These insights directly shape the finalized fiscal plan by pinpointing which programs drove outsized returns, which initiatives should be discontinued to free up resources and where the next dollar of budget will generate the greatest pipeline impact.

90 days and beyond: The approved marketing plan is fully operationalized with program budget tracking, executive dashboard views and a regular performance review rhythm established for leadership. The first major initiative is launched to rearchitect cross-functional workflows and unlock marketing efficiencies.
