GTM Engineer

The Basics:

We are seeking a GTM Engineer to help shape and execute intelligent go-to-market workflows across Marketing and Sales. This role sits within the GTM Automation team and works closely with Sales Systems and IT to design, build, and scale automation and AI-powered processes across the GTM ecosystem to increase efficiency and accelerate revenue growth.

This individual will partner with GTM leadership to translate strategy into practical, scalable systems, owning and deploying workflows, optimized processes, and automation in collaboration with Sales Systems and IT. Depending on the tool and system, this role may own end-to-end delivery, co-own implementation, or design and hand off solutions for production deployment.

Success in this role requires a strong understanding of the buying lifecycle and go-to-market processes, automation and integration experience, technical fluency, and comfort working in development, test and production environments while balancing speed, impactful outcomes, robust governance, and cross-functional partnership with all stakeholders.

This position follows the Company’s hybrid schedule which currently requires employees to work in the office at one of the following locations a minimum of three days per week: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA.

 

What you’ll do:

GTM Automation and AI Strategy Support

  • Partner with GTM leadership to help shape GTM automation and AI strategy, informed by hands-on building, technology availability, and GTM team feedback
  • Identify high-impact automation opportunities across Marketing and Sales, recommending solutions based on feasibility, availability, security, cost, and business impact
  • Contribute to architectural discussions around AI-assisted and agentic workflows, including thoughtful consideration with respect to the evolution of automation ownership, monitoring, and governance across GTM Ops, Sales Systems and IT teams

Design, Build, and Implement

  • Design and build automation and AI-powered solutions across GTM systems, including signal-based workflows that act on buyer intent, engagement, and lifecycle events to improve speed, relevance, and conversion
  • Build and support automated engagement and outbound workflows, including enrichment, qualification, routing, and Sales handoff, in alignment with GTM strategy and system governance requirements
  • Leverage AI to enable contextual personalization at scale across GTM motions, reducing manual effort and increasing seller efficiency while improving message relevance and consistency
  • Where appropriate, develop proofs of concept and early-stage architecture to validate outcomes before accelerating production deployments
  • Drive end-to-end implementation of GTM automation in platforms owned by GTM (e.g., Qualified, 6sense, Marketo, People.ai, Clari, Traction Complete), from design through deployment and optimization
  • Collaborate with Sales Systems, Enterprise Architecture, and IT to translate GTM needs into scalable solutions, supporting design, validation, and production readiness
  • Serve as day-to-day administrator for GTM automation tools, including configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing performance optimization
  • Drive adoption and effective usage of owned GTM tools through enablement, documentation, and stakeholder partnership

Cross-Functional Partnership and Deployment

  • Partner closely with Sales Systems, Enterprise Architecture, IT, and Security to review, test, and deploy automation into production environments
  • Coordinate with external vendors and internal stakeholders to support implementation, enhancements, and issue resolution across GTM tools
  • Provide clear documentation, technical context, and testing support to enable efficient handoff and deployment
  • Serve as a technical thought partner to GTM stakeholders while aligning with system owners, IT, security, and compliance requirements

Measurement and Continuous Improvement · Responsible for the performance of GTM automation and AI-powered workflows, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, speed to lead, and conversion

  • Partner with the BI and Analytics team and GTM leadership to define and track meaningful success metrics tied to business outcomes
  • Use funnel performance and system insights to continuously optimize workflows, targeting, and engagement logic
  • Translate performance learnings and GTM feedback into actionable recommendations that inform ongoing GTM automation priorities

Data, Governance, and Enablement

  • Ensure automation workflows meet standards for data quality, auditability, privacy, and compliance
  • Continually work with IT and Security teams to balance risk with meaningful, measurable outcomes
  • Document solutions and enable GTM teams through training, best practices, and ongoing optimization

  • Measurable improvements in sales velocity, funnel conversion, and GTM efficiency through a mix of directly owned and cross-functionally deployed automation
  • Clear, well-designed solutions that move smoothly from concept to production
  • Strong trust and operating rhythm with Sales Systems, Enterprise Architecture, and IT partners
  • Practical, experience-based input that helps GTM leadership make better decisions with respect to technology, execution strategy, and investment

We’re looking for someone with:  

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in GTM Operations, RevOps, Sales/Marketing Systems, or Automation Engineering
  • Proven experience designing and building automation workflows across GTM systems
  • Hands-on experience with AI-powered technologies, agents, or autonomous GTM systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate between business and technical stakeholders
  • Strong technical fluency, including experience with Salesforce, APIs, integrations, and workflow orchestration tools
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • SQL and data analysis for debugging and validation
  • Experience operating in environments where IT and business stakeholders own a mix of production systems, necessitating strong partnerships and operational flexibility
  • Familiarity with Marketo, Qualified, enrichment platforms, Workato, analytics tools
  • Experience building internal tools or lightweight UIs to unify data across systems
  • Experience in a global B2B SaaS or enterprise technology environment
  • Familiarity with advanced segmentation strategies, lifecycle marketing, and personalization frameworks

What you’ll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 to $270,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
