Senior Product Manager – Futures

Chicago, Illinois

Company Name: IG US Holdings, Inc.
Role: Senior Product Manager, Futures
Location: Chicago, IL - Hybrid (3 days/week in office)

Our Product Team manages the portfolio of features and enhancements that power tastytrade, guiding each initiative from initial concept through discovery, build, deployment, and continuous improvement. We're expanding the team to match the ambition of what we're building, and we're hiring a Senior Product Manager to own our futures trading experience.

tastytrade already has a strong futures offering, and we're about to make it significantly more powerful. As we execute a major expansion of our futures infrastructure, taking greater ownership of its clearing and operational capabilities, this role will be actively involved in key firm decisions, while also owning the client-facing experience that futures traders see every day. This is a unique opportunity to own meaningful customer experience work on a live, high-volume trading surface, while engaging in the kind of structural work that changes what tastytrade is capable of long-term.

You'll report into the head of product and own tastytrade's futures experience end-to-end – contract discovery and order entry, position management, margin communication etc. – while partnering closely with the technology and operations teams driving this buildout. You'll develop deep subject matter expertise in futures markets and play a pivotal role in shaping a platform that's redefining what a retail futures business looks like.

What You’ll Do:

Own the futures trading experience end-to-end:

  • Lead strategy and execution for the full futures product surface, including the active trader interface, ‘pairs’ trader, DOM and ladder, chart-integrated order entry, calendar spread and roll workflows, and options-on-futures entry.
  • Ensure a fast, precise, and trustworthy experience for active traders across web, mobile, and desktop, while recognizing that each platform has unique constraints and highest-value use cases.

Drive measurable business outcomes:

  • Develop a comprehensive product strategy for futures that translates business vision into executable plans.
  • Define and track OKRs and KPIs tied to futures trading volume, active trader retention, and micro contract adoption.
  • Build business cases for new product investments with clear ROI projections and competitive positioning.

Navigate complexity across markets and stakeholders:

  • Own the product decisions that sit at the intersection of trading infrastructure, exchange relationships, and regulatory requirements, including margin methodology (SPAN), overnight vs. intraday requirement communication, clearing and reconciliation, and session transition UX.
  • As tastytrade expands its role in futures market infrastructure, you'll help define what new capabilities mean for the customer experience, working closely with legal, compliance, and operations to translate regulatory milestones into product opportunities.
  • You’ll communicate confidently with executive stakeholders while translating between technical and business perspectives, and manage cross-functional dependencies with the options, equities, and core platform teams.

Grow and develop the futures customer base:

  • Partner with marketing and content teams to identify opportunities to bring new traders into futures, particularly through the micro contract product lineup (/MES, /MNQ, /MBT, and others), and design the onboarding, education, and activation flows that get them to their first successful trade.

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of product management experience with demonstrated success leading complex product initiatives, managing stakeholder relationships, and delivering products that drove significant business outcomes and revenue growth
  • Deep familiarity with futures markets:  you understand contract specifications, tick sizes, margin mechanics (SPAN), expiration and roll dynamics, and the difference between equity index, commodity, interest rate, and crypto futures products
  • Expertise in high-performance trading interfaces, with a strong point of view on what active futures traders need from order entry, position management, and risk display across web, mobile, and desktop
  • Experience in fintech, retail brokerage, or an adjacent regulated industry is strongly preferred; direct experience building or using futures trading platforms is a significant advantage. Familiarity with futures market structure, including clearing, execution, and the role of FCMs in the trade lifecycle, will be particularly valuable as tastytrade grows its presence in this space
  • Strong technical and commercial acumen: you can define comprehensive non-functional requirements around latency, data fidelity, and session handling, and work in lockstep with engineering while building business cases and tracking financial metrics tied to product performance
  • Mastery of advanced PM methods: expert with prototyping, A/B testing, advanced analytics, and roadmapping platforms, with experience leveraging AI and machine learning to optimize product capabilities
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills: able to tailor messaging to diverse stakeholders from engineers to executives, with experience mentoring junior product managers and establishing scalable ways of working across teams
  • Passion for empowering individual traders and improving the futures trading experience through data-driven insights and strategic decision-making

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

An "Armed forces service medal veteran" means a veteran who, while serving on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service, participated in a United States military operation for which an Armed Forces service medal was awarded pursuant to Executive Order 12985.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
