ABOUT THE ROLE:  

The Senior Interior Designer leads creative design initiatives, blending conceptual thinking, industry expertise, and innovation to elevate the organization's design deliverables. This role thrives on pushing boundaries, integrating technology, and delivering exceptional, forward-thinking interior solutions.  

With a holistic approach to design, the Senior Interior Designer navigates every phase of the process— from research and ideation to concept development, execution, and collaboration with vendors and development partners. A deep understanding of user flow, market trends, and production processes ensures that designs are visually stunning and strategically aligned with business objectives.  

This position demands strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, working seamlessly with internal teams, external clients, suppliers, and global creative partners. The Senior Interior Designer confidently presents concepts and project outcomes to diverse audiences, ensuring compelling, high-impact design solutions that inspire and engage. 

 

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:  

Travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time to support client and/or vendor meetings

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

OWNING  

  • Act as a direct point of contact for clients, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance deliverables and problem-solve challenges. o 
  • Actively participate in project meetings, ensuring deliverables meet high-quality standards, deadlines, and budget constraints.  
  • Provide regular updates on project timelines, budgets, and any scope changes, ensuring transparency and accountability with the project management.  
  • Serve as a Project Lead, guiding teams and ensuring project excellence.  

THINKING  

  • Confidently defend and articulate design choices, ensuring alignment with client needs and project goals.  
  • Partner with multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative, market-relevant design solutions.  
  • Successfully lead and/or support multiple projects simultaneously with efficiency and strategic focus.  
  • Mentor and support team members, fostering technical growth and encouraging creative innovation.  

DOING  

  • Champion and implement a structured design process to ensure efficiency and quality.  
  • Ensure all design solutions balance creativity, technical expertise, and cultural sensitivity, focusing strongly on color, aesthetics, and user experience.  
  • Lead internal and client-facing phase reviews, ensuring alignment with project objectives.  
  • Support client schedule event tracking to keep projects aligned and on target.   
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support project success. 

 

WHAT YOU BRING: 

  • Bachelor's degree in interior design, environmental design, or interior architecture or equivalent job experience is preferred.  
  • 7+ years related work experience in Interior Design; Aviation interior design experience a plus  
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat; MS Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams; Mac OS, including Keynote.  
  • Exceptional presentation skills with proven capabilities to engage and inspire clients.  
  • Strong understanding of branding and the ability to seamlessly incorporate brand identity into interior spaces.  
  • A keen eye for color, design, and aesthetics, with strong judgment in creating visually compelling spaces.  
  • Deep understanding of the design process, from brainstorming (divergent) and concept selection (convergent) to detailed execution.  
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding design solutions, consistently achieving successful project outcomes and exceeding client expectations.  
  • Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional design teams, ensuring seamless integration of ideas and expertise.  
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and workflows, ensuring efficient planning and execution.  
  • Ability to seamlessly integrate technology with innovative design solutions.  
  • Understanding global markets and knowledge of the latest trends and their application in the industry.

The salary range for this job in most US geographic locations is $98,063 - $145,899.
