Staff Investment Engineer

As a Staff Investment Engineer, you will architect and implement the player progression systems of an Unannounced Project from pre-production to production and beyond, giving designers the ability to engage and delight players across thousands of hours of gameplay. Most importantly, you will work with a fun, dedicated, cross-discipline team devoted to turning a creative dream into a new franchise at PlayStation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Architect and maintain production-quality player investment systems, workflows, and tools in C++ on Unreal 5 with minimal oversight

• Provide technical guidance to teammates on using and interfacing with such systems, including advising on constraints and best practices.

• Collaborate daily with a cross-disciplinary team to build new gameplay experiences

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Ability to write, debug, and maintain code in C++

• Experience designing and building networked game systems related to long-term player pursuits

• Ability to communicate with customers of different technical and non-technical backgrounds to help them navigate technology and achieve their goals

• Experience with development using the Unreal Engine

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• Experience working on a live service game

• Experience with development on a variety of platforms (PC, console)

• Experience mentoring or managing engineers

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$190,000 - $285,000 USD
