Wholesale Planning Manager

Tecovas is looking for a Wholesale Merchandise Planning Manager. Reporting to the Director of Planning and Allocation, you will be a key member of Tecovas setting the foundation for all future wholesale planning processes and responsible for product level forecasting and buying for wholesale accounts, partnering cross-functionally and working closely with the wholesales sales team, DTC planning, sourcing, and the merchant team.
This role is required to be based in Austin, TX. Candidates must either be currently located in or willing to relocate to Austin, TX.
What you’ll do:
- Category, Item, Account Inventory Forecasting:
- Build and manage the pre-season buys forecasting process, including both top-down and bottom-up strategies for style, color, and size plans to meet sales, inventory, and margin goals based on the sales team forecasts.
- Work with DTC planning team to place timely POs in line with our production timelines.
- Collaborate closely with the wholesale and merchandising teams on assortment and pricing before market, coordinating SKU counts, class plans, and communicating risks to ensure initial markup (IMU) and financial targets are met.
- Financial Updates and Reporting:
- Support the monthly Open to Buy process for the wholesale channel by analyzing account-level demand, current trends, and future projections to maximize opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Communicate key item investments, best and worst sellers, and their impact on the bottom line to management.
- Provide ad hoc reporting and tools as needed for strategic business decisions and sales partners.
- Inventory Management:
- Create order templates and replenishment flow forecasts, tracking PO timing, and managing weekly sell-in, sell-through, and ATS performance to ensure inventory availability.
- Partner with the DTC planning team on style risk, channel transfers, receipt needs, and capacity planning pre-season.
- Communicate inventory positions effectively, highlighting out-of-stock risks and overstock situations.
- Work with DTC planning team to place timely POs in line with our production timelines and MOQ requirements.
Experience we’re looking for:
- 7+ years of experience in wholesale and DTC planning preferably within the footwear industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Merchandising, or a related field.
- Strong communication skills.
- Advanced analytical and Excel modeling abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
