Senior Technical Program Manager

Austin, TX

Tecovas was founded with the simple goal of making the world's best western boots, apparel and leather goods - and selling them at a fair price. We are a brand revolutionizing a category and welcoming first-time boot buyers and western enthusiasts alike.

Tecovas is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead the delivery of complex, cross-functional technical initiatives across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Program Management, you will own program execution end-to-end—driving prioritization, timelines, and alignment while partnering closely with engineering and technology leaders. You thrive working across diverse technical domains and bring a collaborative, solutions-oriented, positive mindset to everything you do.

What you’ll do:

  • Own end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-quarter technical programs spanning engineering, data, product, and business teams
  • Drive program strategy, roadmap alignment, and execution, ensuring initiatives are tightly aligned to business objectives and customer outcomes
  • Establish and continuously improve program management frameworks, operating rhythms, and best practices across the Technology organization
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for delivery commitments, proactively identifying risks, dependencies, and trade-offs
  • Partner closely with senior engineering and product leaders to define scope, and resourcing, including roadmap and capacity planning
  • Translate high-level business goals into clear, actionable technical requirements, user stories, milestones, and success metrics
  • Provide executive-level communication and reporting, delivering concise, data-driven updates on status, risks, and outcomes
  • Influence decision-making through deep understanding of technical architecture, delivery constraints, and customer impact
  • Drive feature prioritization and dependency management in partnership with engineering and product, including level-of-effort estimation
  • Anticipate and resolve delivery challenges, escalating with clear options and recommendations when leadership decisions are required
  • Mentor and coach other program managers, helping raise the bar on program execution, communication, and stakeholder trust
  • Develop and maintain portfolio-level dashboards that provide visibility into delivery health, capacity, and backlog across initiatives

Experience we’re looking for:

  • 7+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, or related roles, working closely with software engineering teams
  • Proven success leading large-scale, complex technical programs involving multiple engineering teams, systems, business stakeholder groups and dependencies
  • Strong experience partnering with engineering leaders on technical planning, delivery forecasting, and capacity management
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within Agile / Scrum environments, including sprint planning, backlog management, and release coordination
  • Excellent customer intuition; demonstrated success in identifying, prioritizing and delivering product capabilities to delight customers
  • Experience translating business and product goals into clear technical requirements, milestones, and delivery plans
  • Track record of driving alignment across engineering, product, data, and business stakeholders in fast-paced environments
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to assess delivery health, identify risks, and inform decisions
  • Experience managing external vendors or development partners as part of an integrated delivery model
  • Bonus points for prior experience in direct-to-consumer, retail, or eCommerce environments

What you bring to the table:

  • You have the capacity to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, schedule and meet deadlines.
  • You have excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with an ability to influence at executive level.
  • You have a proven track record of earning trust with stakeholders who may possess disparate working styles.
  • You take pride in the quality and durability of your work.

Full Time Benefits & Perks:

  • We offer insurance plans that pay 79-90% of your health premium coverage and 100% of your dental & vision insurance coverage for your family/dependents
  • 401(k) match
  • Paid Parental Leave

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
