Program Leadership (BCP/DR Program Driver):
- Develop and Maintain BCP/DR Strategies: Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s BCP and DR strategies, ensuring alignment with industry standards (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST 800-34) and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, DPDP Act for India-based operations).
- Policy and Governance: Create and update BCP/DR policies, procedures, and frameworks to ensure comprehensive coverage of all critical business functions and IT systems.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, security, operations, HR, finance, Legal) to identify critical processes, dependencies, and recovery priorities, fostering a culture of resilience across the organization.
- Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver BCP/DR training programs for employees, ensuring all staff are prepared to respond to disruptions effectively.
- Program Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior leadership on the status of the BCP/DR program, including risk assessments, test results, and improvement plans.
- Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with third-party vendors (e.g., cloud providers like AWS, DRaaS providers) to ensure external dependencies are accounted for in BCP/DR plans.
- Risk Assessments and Business Impact Analysis (BIA): Conduct detailed risk assessments and BIAs to identify vulnerabilities, assess the impact of potential disruptions, and prioritize recovery efforts for critical systems (e.g., NetBanking platforms, AWS-based applications).
- DR Plan Development and Testing: Create and maintain detailed DR plans for IT systems, including recovery procedures for servers, databases, and applications. Execute regular DR tests (e.g., tabletop exercises, failover simulations) to validate recovery capabilities.
- Incident Response Support: Act as a key responder during incidents, coordinating recovery efforts and ensuring minimal downtime for critical systems. This includes hands-on execution of recovery tasks, such as restoring backups or failing over to secondary sites.
- System Hardening: Collaborate with IT, Legal and security teams to implement resilience measures, such as configuring high-availability architectures (e.g., AWS multi-region setups) and securing identity management systems (e.g., using SCIM for user provisioning).
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain detailed documentation of BCP/DR plans, test results, and incident response activities, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and regulatory standards.
- Tooling and Automation: Leverage tools like GitLab to manage BCP/DR documentation and scripts, implementing pre-commit checks to ensure code quality for automated recovery scripts. Use automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) to streamline DR processes.
