Our robust profitability allows us not only to invest in pioneering technologies but also to foster an environment of continuous learning and growth for our team.

Our collective vision is a world where borderless connectivity fuels limitless innovation. By joining us, you can be part of laying the foundations for this interconnected future. We're currently seeking passionate individuals who are excited about the opportunity to contribute to an industry-shaping company while growing their own skills and careers.

About You

You are a seasoned platform engineer who thrives on building the foundational layer that enables other engineers to move fast with confidence. You think in systems, care deeply about developer experience, and have strong opinions about infrastructure that you can back up with experience. You've operated production systems at scale, led architectural decisions that outlasted your tenure, and mentored engineers who went on to do the same.

The Opportunity

Telnyx operates a global telecom platform running on bare metal infrastructure across data centers worldwide. As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will own the shared platform layer that every engineering team builds on — from the Kubernetes clusters and service mesh that run our Elixir, Go, and Python services, to the CI/CD pipelines, observability stack, and internal tooling that keep us shipping reliably.

This is a high-leverage role. You won't just build infrastructure — you'll define what "platform" means at Telnyx and set the technical direction for how we operate at scale.

In This Role You Will

• Design, build, and operate Telnyx's core platform infrastructure — Kubernetes clusters, service mesh, CI/CD systems, and observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki)
• Own the Elixir/BEAM runtime platform — BEAM VM tuning, clustering, deployment patterns, and tooling for product teams
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/Pulumi across bare metal servers, networking, and cloud resources
• Create and evolve internal developer tooling — CLI tools, service templates, documentation, and guardrails
• Lead capacity planning, incident response, and SLO definition for internal platform services
• Work closely with Infrastructure, TelApps, Mobile Core, and Edge teams
• Mentor senior engineers and influence technical direction across the org

Who We're Looking For

• 7+ years in platform engineering, infrastructure, or SRE roles
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes — cluster lifecycle, operator development, multi-cluster management
• Strong experience with IaC (Terraform/Pulumi) in production
• Experience operating bare metal infrastructure — provisioning, PXE booting, switch config, data center networking
• Proficiency in at least two of: Elixir/BEAM, Go, Python
• Track record of shipping developer platforms adopted by 10+ engineers
• CI/CD at scale (GitHub Actions, Buildkite, or similar)
• Strong communication — RFCs, architecture decisions, stakeholder alignment

Bonus Points

• BEAM clustering / Erlang/OTP in production
• Telecom or CPaaS experience (SIP, SS7, VoIP)
• Bare metal platforms (not just managed cloud)
• Open-source infrastructure contributions
• eBPF, Cilium, or advanced K8s networking
• Hardware security (TPM, secure boot)

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
