Head of Pricing & Packaging

About the role:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced pricing and packaging expert to join our team. As the Head of Pricing, you will lead how we think about pricing and packaging. This role will drive efforts related to developing and implementing pricing and packaging strategies for new and existing products and services, and evaluating pricing performance over time to optimize monetization. You will work closely with functions like sales, marketing, product, finance, and senior leadership to align and accelerate revenue growth across our various offerings and markets. As a multi-product company that offers a variety of solutions for various buying personas and customer segments, this role will require your creativity and need to understand multiple product areas, buying personas, competitors, market dynamics, and sales incentives, beyond the core capabilities of running pricing analyses. This position will report to the Director of Product Strategy & Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and maintain the pricing and packaging strategies for Templafy’s existing and new products that maximize revenue and profitability across product lines and market segments.
- Conduct market, competitor and deal research to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in pricing and packaging. Provide actionable insights, and recommendations for adjusting pricing and packaging to the senior leadership team so that we maintain a competitive position in the market.
- Collaborate with product leadership and product managers across product lines to explore innovative and practical pricing and packaging recommendations for new products, enhancements, and roadmap candidates where necessary.
- Partner with sales and product marketing teams to develop pricing and packaging messaging and collateral that efficiently communicates value propositions to prospects and customers.
- Work with finance teams to develop financial models that evaluate product margins and the impact of pricing changes and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
- Anticipate and remove obstacles that slow us down or prevent us from reaching our pricing and packaging goals and targets.
- Liaise with colleagues from product, analytics, customer success, marketing, sales, category management, finance, revenue operations, and senior management to ensure needs are captured into requirements and to drive consensus and alignment with pricing and packaging recommendations that resonate with target audiences, meet market demands, and contribute to our financial targets.
- Support and engage with customers, partners and industry analysts on strategic pricing initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Our ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, expertise in packaging and pricing, and a solid background in accelerating revenue and growth.
- You should have:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in pricing and packaging related roles, especially with multi-product/region/segment B2B businesses.
- Minimum 4 years of software-as-a-service experience.
- Extensive experience in developing and implementing packaging, pricing and monetization strategies.
- Ability to switch the level of abstraction from the “big picture” strategy to micro-level details depending on the audience and context.
- Effective communication skills with experience in driving a clear narrative on pricing analyses and recommendations, conflict resolution, and consensus-building.
- Robust analytical skills, and comfortable running quantitative and qualitative research, financial modelling, sensitivity analysis and pricing studies. · Project management experience, with experience in managing cross-functional initiatives.
- A data-driven mindset with experience in leveraging quantitative insights to inform strategic decisions and deliver measurable results.
- Bachelor or equivalent degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration. MBA or Master is beneficial.
Compensation:
US Base Salary: $170,000-$200,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
