The Role

We're seeking a skilled Cloud/DevOps Engineer to join our Engineering team, designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation workflows. You'll enhance deployment reliability, cost efficiency, and service resilience, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive incident resolution, automation, and a scalable DevOps culture.

Essential Job Duties

  • Design, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for multiple services
  • Develop modular, tested Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools
  • Containerize workloads (e.g., Docker) and manage orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS)
  • Implement observability patterns, alerting rules, and SLO-driven monitoring dashboards
  • Audit IAM policies, enforce least-privilege access, and automate security configurations
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve build and deployment issues across environments
  • Maintain onboarding and usage documentation for pipelines and infrastructure tooling
  • Contribute to reducing cloud cost and improving infrastructure reusability
  • Participate in post-incident reviews and improve reliability practices
  • Lead small infrastructure improvement initiatives and modularization efforts

Skills and Qualifications

  • Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
  • Infrastructure & Automation: Proficient with CI/CD tools, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS)
  • Cloud Platform Experience: Proficient with AWS deployments, with a high level of architectural understanding of AWS offerings.
  • Systems Reliability & Monitoring: 3 years of experience with observability platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog) and SLO-driven monitoring
  • Security & Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of IAM policies, security scanning, and compliance checks
  • Security Emphasis: Champion information and infrastructure security, with knowledge of standard IT security practices (e.g., encryption, certificates, key management).
  • Collaboration & Communication: Effective troubleshooting, documentation, and knowledge-sharing skills
  • Strategic & Operational Impact: Ability to identify cost inefficiencies, improve pipeline performance, and align DevOps work with product delivery goals
  • Programming Skills: 3 years of experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Ruby) for automation or data analysis

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Continuous Integration: Knowledge of CI systems (e.g., Hudson/Jenkins/Gitlab).
  • Scalable Networking: Experience with Load Balancers, Firewalls, and web standards (REST APIs, web security mechanisms).
  • Deployment and Orchestration: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar technologies
  • Security Certification: Current CompTIA Security+ certification or ability to obtain within the first six months of hire
  • Version Control: Familiarity with version control solutions (e.g., Gitlab, Github)

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related technical field.
