Terran Orbital is seeking a motivated Systems Integration & Test Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Systems Integration & Test Engineering Manager, the Systems Integration & Test Engineering Intern will get hands‑on experience supporting vehicle assembly, integration, and testing. You’ll help develop and execute AFT/CPT/Polarity test procedures, rotate with vehicle technicians, support bus‑level integration, and work on real NCR investigations that drive continuous improvement.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Support vehicle build, integration, and test activities across multiple programs
- Develop and run AFT, CPT, and Polarity test procedures (including first‑article tests)
- Rotate with vehicle technicians to learn build processes and system workflows
- Assist with bus testing, procedure updates, and build‑status tracking
- Participate in NCR root‑cause analysis, disposition, troubleshooting, and rework
- Capture lessons learned and help implement process improvements
- Document test results, updates, and weekly progress summaries
- Present final findings on improvements, scaling, and production readiness
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems or related engineering field
- Able to work full time, onsite in Irvine, CA for 8 – 12 weeks starting in June 2026 (no relocation stipend, must be local).
- Hands‑on experience from rocketry clubs, robotics competitions, or similar build/test projects
- Basic understanding of test equipment and ability to read wiring diagrams/schematics
- Some familiarity with software or scripting (Python/MATLAB/Git preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
- U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with system/vehicle integration or functional testing
- Exposure to NCR processes, root‑cause analysis, or test procedure development
- Familiarity with lab instrumentation or test automation
Salary Range
- Freshman/Sophomore - $25 per hour
- Junior - $27.50 per hour
- Senior/Graduate - $30 per hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
