Senior Research Associate, Proteomics

Your experience includes… 

  • BS + 5 years/MS+ 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience in LC-MS based proteomics
  • Hands on experience and knowledge in proteomics sample prep techniques
  • Experience in protein isolation and purification from complex biological samples including cells, tissues and biofluids
  • Experience using XCalibur, Skyline, Proteome Discoverer, or BioPharma software.

You are interested in… 

  • Performing LC-MS-based proteomics experiments and optimizing experimental protocols, sample preparation, and instrument parameters to ensure high-quality data generation.
  • Preparing biological samples (tissues, cells, biofluids) for LC-MS analysis, including protein extraction, digestion, sample clean-up and using various enrichment techniques (e.g., immunoprecipitation) to enhance detection sensitivity.
  • Operating and maintaining state-of-the-art LC-MS systems and associated software. Performing routine instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and data quality.
  • Performing data analysis using commercial or free proteomics software (XCalibur, Skyline, Proteome Discoverer, Biopharma Finder, etc). Generating reports and presenting results to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams of researchers, including biologists, bioinformaticians, and statisticians. Assisting with training of lab personnel.

About you: 

You are a driven, motivated and collaborative individual who enjoys working on a multidisciplinary team of researchers. You are interested in developing, validating and employing LC/MS based proteomic approaches to analyze biological samples to support research, non-clinical and clinical development programs for a variety of therapeutics indications. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and multi-tasking as well as working independently on various aspects of the platform.

Jicheng Duan – Associate Director, DMPK

Jicheng Duan is a highly motivated scientist with deep expertise in LC-MS-based proteomic and bioanalytical development across diverse therapeutic areas, from early discovery to clinical development. At Tessera Therapeutics, he leads a team dedicated to advancing LC-MS-based proteomics and RNA bioanalysis to support preclinical studies for Gene Writing and Rewriting Therapeutics. Jicheng holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry and has worked with prominent institutions and biopharmaceutical companies, including the University of California, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Bioverativ, and Sanofi. His work continues to drive innovation in therapeutic research and biotechnology.

Narissa Furtado-Cordeiro - Manager, Talent Acquisition 

Narissa joined the Biotechnology industry shortly after graduating with her BS in Marketing from Franklin Pierce University. She is currently pursuing a MS in Legal Studies from Northeastern University School of Law while working full time as a Manager in Talent Acquisition at Tessera. She is passionate about helping individuals find a fulfilling opportunity while considering their interests, aspirations and technical skills. Narissa lives in Northern Vermont and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, three-year-old daughter and German Shepherd.
