Remote in APAC

Location: This is a fully remote position within a globally distributed company. It is open to candidates located in the EMEA or APAC region who wish to work remotely. Preferred locations include Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Due to our compensation strategy, we will not consider applicants from high-cost-of-living areas such as Benelux, DACH, France, Spain, the Nordics, and the UK.

We are hiring a Principal Solutions Architect to lead the design of robust technical solutions for the continuous advancement of our Testlio Platform. You can learn more about the Platform team here

What would your day look like?

  • Lead the design of Solution Blueprints, Technical Designs, and architectural decision documents, ensuring they are clear, actionable, and align with strategic business objectives and our existing platform architecture.
  • Conduct peer reviews and provide quality assurance for Solution Blueprints and Technical Design documents created by other senior/principal engineers.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders & fellow engineers to understand requirements and translate them into robust and scalable technical solutions.
  • Act as a key technical authority within the Platform division, providing expert guidance on complex design challenges and architectural decisions. 
  • Proactively disseminate knowledge & mentor other engineers in architectural best practices.
  • Define & advocate for quality standards in designing, coding, testing & documenting.
  • Support the deployment of AI-assisted quality gate processes that ensure best practices are followed consistently.
  • Guide teams on practical architectural decisions that improve our key engineering metrics. Refine frameworks for translating technical impacts into business metrics. 
  • Curate the tech debt backlog and apply prioritization based on these frameworks.

What do you need to succeed?

Technical Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience, and another 5+ years of leading successful architectural decisions, solution blueprinting & technical design.
  • Strong affinity with our tech stack of React, TypeScript, NodeJS, GraphQL, PHP, MySQL, AWS, and Kafka.
  • Practical knowledge of architectural patterns and coding practices, particularly those pertaining to microservices and event-driven design.
  • Understanding AI-powered development tools and their practical applications in the SDLC is a strong plus!

Human Skills

  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, meticulous, and thorough, with an unwavering commitment to the quality and clarity of architectural deliverables.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with the ability to influence and guide senior technical staff.
  • Results-oriented, with data-driven decision-making and a focus on delivering impactful outcomes.
  • Strong preference for a remote working environment.
  • A passion for staying current with the latest industry trends and technologies, and a drive to improve and innovate continuously.
