Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead our FIN team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership by engaging team members daily and fostering a collaborative environment. Responsibilities include proactive communication with the TCS Leadership Team, identifying improvement areas, managing external financial relationships, and ensuring timely completion of financial tasks. Your financial and strategic leadership, in partnership with the VP of Finance, will play a pivotal role in helping us achieve our goal of becoming the leading HVAC commercial service company in Texas.

  • Proactively communicate trends and potential areas of improvement between FIN and OPS to TCS Executive Team.
  • You will become the vital link between our FIN and OPS teams by identifying and sharing key trends and areas for improvement. Your proactive communication with the TCS Executive Team will drive strategic decisions and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Managing relationships outside the FIN team to obtain the contributed financial information (ie. Receipts, commission tracking) to meet FIN team deadlines and expectations.
  • You will build and nurture relationships beyond the FIN team to gather essential financial information, such as receipts and commission tracking. Your efforts will ensure we meet our deadlines and exceed expectations, showcasing our commitment to excellence in every detail.

 

Roles and responsibilities

  • Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
  • Proactively manage daily/weekly/monthly tasks within the FIN team for successful completion
  • Proactively preparing documentation, including but not limited to Astra level month end work papers and reporting packages, weekly cash flow forecasts, as required for TCS Executive Team to review prior to submission to external sources
  • Understanding of sales tax reporting, compliance and payment requirements.
  • Familiarity with payroll requirements and tax liability; filing quarterly returns and making payments to agencies (currently processing payroll in-house).
  • Reviewing AP aging weekly with AP Specialist II to identify and prepare report of outgoing payments for Executive Team review
  • Proactively monitoring the AR aging report with the AR Specialist to manage AFDA and bad debt write-offs.
  • Managing the commission tracking, calculation, and payout process with monthly updates on estimated payouts.

 

Characteristics

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Word, intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, and understanding of common accounting software suites
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail, understanding/identifying trends in revenue and spending, and recognizing training opportunities for team members in both FIN and OPS.
  • Dependable and engaged daily, understanding how crucial the role of an accountant is to the success of the organization.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
  • 7+ years of accounting experience required.
  • 5+ years in a leadership position required.

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Pay scale: $80,000.00-$105,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8-hour day
  • Monday to Friday
  • 100% in office
