Job Description:

As the Director of Health and Safety, you will take charge of creating a safer, healthier, and more proactive work environment. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and management of comprehensive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs that ensure the well-being of every team member. Your leadership will drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement, making a lasting impact across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities :

· Develop and continuously improve health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure they meet both regulatory standards and industry best practices. Your expertise will shape the policies that keep our workplace safe and compliant.

· Foster a culture of safety by collaborating with employees and leadership to embed health and safety principles into everyday operations.

· Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of safety initiatives and identify areas for improvement.

· Identify workplace hazards and risks through inspections, audits, and assessments. Communicate your findings clearly and work with teams to implement effective solutions.

· Lead investigations into workplace accidents and incidents, ensuring root causes are uncovered and preventive measures are put in place to avoid recurrence.

· Maintain a robust risk management system by periodically reviewing and updating procedures to address new challenges and opportunities.

· Allocate resources strategically by managing the annual budget for health and safety programs, balancing cost efficiency with the need for impactful initiatives.

· Design and deliver engaging training programs to empower employees and leaders with the knowledge and tools needed to uphold safety standards.

· Serve as a trusted advisor to the organization, providing guidance and technical expertise to the safety committee and other stakeholders.

· Review accident trends, analyze data, and propose actionable recommendations to mitigate risks and improve overall safety outcomes.

· Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory requirements. Your attention to detail will ensure a safe working environment.

· Act as a leader and role model for safety, stopping operations or activities when they pose a risk to employee well-being or equipment.

· Coordinate emergency preparedness plans and ensure that all team members are equipped to respond effectively in case of an incident.

· Innovate by staying up-to-date with the latest safety technologies, trends, and practices, incorporating them into organizational strategies.

Qualifications:

· A bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).

· 8-10 years of progressive experience in health, safety, and environmental management, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.

· Relevant certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), are highly desirable.

· Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.

· A proven ability to develop and implement impactful safety programs.

· Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a focus on identifying risks and driving improvement.

· Exceptional communication and leadership abilities to influence and engage teams at all levels.

· Experience managing budgets and effectively allocating resources.

Minimum Time Commitment to the Position:

· 3 years. You are committed to building and maintaining relationships in the industry, and you recognize that this requires commitment.

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Hours of Availability: 6:00am-6:00pm, Monday-Friday for physical visits to locations. You will also be required to be available via phone from 8:00am-8:00pm, 7 days a week. You may be required to come in early or stay late to accommodate special opportunities.
