What you will do: 

 

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst who excels not only in technical expertise but also in understanding complex business needs, drawing insights from data, and translating them into actionable strategies. 

You will join our Business Analytics team, which has 3 missions:

  1. Valuable Business Insights: We dive deep into our data to uncover patterns and trends in our restaurants, diners, products and business performances, and we aim to give actionable insights to drive strategic initiatives and enhance customer experiences.
  2. Comprehensive Data and Business Intelligence Platform: We're building and maintaining a robust platform that is supporting both business intelligence and product analytics. This means making sure everyone has access to accurate and timely information through easy-to-use dashboards, reports, and analytics tools.
  3. Central Expertise and Business Partnership: As the central team of data experts, we engage with business teams to understand their needs, provide them with frameworks to become more autonomous, and support their efforts to achieve business goals. Our expertise ensures that complex data topics are managed effectively, driving meaningful business results.

 

In this role, you will drive data-informed decision-making and performance management by monitoring essential business metrics. Your responsibilities include delivering regular business performance insights to leadership, conducting in-depth ad-hoc analyses, and contributing to the development of high-quality analytics tools, such as models and dashboards. You’ll provide timely, actionable analysis of key business questions and offer proactive recommendations to enhance service quality, growth, and profitability across the organization.

The role involves a range of impactful projects, including creating data-driven tools for revenue optimization, supporting marketing initiatives through media spend analysis and loyalty program refinement. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with the Data Science team to enhance features like the app’s ranking system to boost customer engagement.

Who you are:

Hard Skills:

  • Analytical Expertise: Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in key techniques like A/B testing, cohort analysis, and PVM decomposition.
  • Complex Problem Modeling: Ability to model complex problems, derive insights from large datasets, and summarize findings in a clear and actionable format.
  • Data Handling & Transformation: Proficiency in SQL (mandatory) for efficient data handling and transformation; familiarity with Python is a plus.
  • Data Modeling & Visualization: Familiar with data modeling concepts (e.g., star schema) and visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, and Looker to create impactful data stories.
  • Programming Proficiency: Knowledge of programming languages (SQL, Python) and data visualization tools enables efficient data manipulation and presentation.

Soft Skills:

  • Autonomous & Proactive: Capable of working independently, taking initiative, and being accountable for outcomes.
  • Excellence-Driven: Committed to high standards, continuously seeking improvement and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: 6-8 years in business intelligence or data engineering, with a strong track record of leading data-driven initiatives
