Manager, Undergraduate Scholar Support Services

Salaried / Exempt, Full-time Position

Summary: The Golden Apple Foundation is seeking a Manager of Undergraduate Scholar Support Services to assist in delivering academic, social-emotional, career preparation, and additional support services to undergraduate students in the Golden Apple Scholars program.

Reports to: The Director of Placement and Undergraduate Scholar Support Services

Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Placement and Undergraduate Scholar Support Services team to assess, design, implement, monitor, and evaluate the requisite support services for the Undergraduate Scholars.

  • Maintain a regular communication cadence for Scholar engagement, events, and data management.

  • Build and manage relationships with all third-party support services providers, including but not limited to University Liaisons at their respective campuses;

  • Measure the success of our undergraduate Scholars individually and collectively to improve our undergraduate graduation and persistence rates;

  • Collect necessary undergraduate performance data (e.g., academic transcripts) and ensure comprehensive and accurate record-keeping in our master system-of-record;

  • Support Scholars in need with the deployment of funds via the Scholar Emergency Fund;

  • Support the delivery of requisite professional development for undergraduate Scholars via Scholar Institutes and other opportunities;

  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration to drive organizational objectives forward and maintain operational continuity in the workflow.

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information; and,

  • Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Scholar Support Services, the Chief Program Officer, and/or the senior leadership team.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Experience in K-12 education or academic coaching strongly preferred

  • Strong entrepreneurial attitude, including drive for results and proven ability to stay focused on goals; ability to prioritize competing priorities and meet deadlines

  • Strong computer and internet proficiency, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Google G-Suite, and database applications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with undergraduate students and external partners; strong written communication and presentation skills

  • Possesses strong organizational and project management skills and is able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with attention to detail.

  • Willing to travel throughout Illinois

  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and evolve; ability to reflect on processes and make improvements

  • Able to work independently, including, at times, outside of regular working hours

  • Able to communicate and collaborate effectively both verbally and in writing with team members

  • Ability to engage in self-reflection and participate professionally in constructive conversations
