As a hands-on Facilities Manager, you will be responsible to ensure safe, compliant, cost‑efficient and reliable operation of our physical sites. You will own site readiness, vendor relationships, facilities budgets and large capital projects while driving continuous improvement, sustainability and exceptional safety outcomes across all our locations.
What’s involved..
- Site operations & compliance: Ensure safe, compliant and reliable operation of all physical sites; maintain plant and mobile machinery to the highest OH&S and regulatory standards.
- Operational readiness & uptime: Maintain maximum uptime for critical equipment through preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and strong coordination with maintenance teams and contractors.
- Vendor & contract management: Lead end‑to‑end contractor selection, negotiation and contract management (including SLAs); monitor supplier performance and enforce contractual and safety compliance.
- Budget & commercial optimisation: Own facilities budgets — forecast, monitor spend, drive cost optimisation and deliver CapEx with strong ROI.
- Safety & statutory obligations: Co‑own site H&S compliance with Health & Safety team — statutory inspections, permits, emergency response and mechanical/electrical safety; ensure due diligence including Chains of Responsibility (CoR).
- Sustainability: Drive energy efficiency, waste reduction and sustainability initiatives aligned to THE ICONIC goals and reporting requirements.
- Stakeholder management: Build and maintain collaborative partnerships across all areas of the business and external suppliers;
- Emergency response: Be available for emergency calls, including outside standard business hours, and respond promptly to equipment failures and hazards.
- Governance & performance: Hold regular MBRs with contractors, maintain compliance records and ensure PPM/compliance activities are completed on schedule.
About you..
- Experience: 5+ years’ experience in facilities management or similar multi‑site operations role (experience managing large distribution/warehouse/operations sites highly desirable).
- Technical Expertise: Strong Facilities & M&E knowledge (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire systems) and familiarity with automation systems.
- Contracting & Commercial: Proven ability in contract negotiation, management of SLAs, supplier performance monitoring and commercial optimisation.
- Project delivery: Experience leading large capital projects from design through to handover, with focus on ROI and statutory compliance.
- Safety & compliance: Deep understanding of workplace health & safety obligations, statutory certifications and CoR requirements.
- Financial acumen: Experience owning budgets, forecasting, delivering CapEx and understanding P&L impacts.
- Stakeholder management: Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder‑management skills across internal and external parties.
- Availability: Willingness to respond to out‑of‑hours emergencies.
