Position Summary:
The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research ("the Foundation") is seeking top talent for its Senior Patient Engagement Specialist position. Reporting to the Director of Patient Engagement, this position at The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (“the Foundation”) develops and implements strategies to enhance patient involvement and support patient-centered research. This role will support the Foundation’s flagship clinical research programs, including the Path to Prevention (P2P) interventional platform trial. This role includes contributing to Foundation initiatives and advising on external partner practices, with a focus on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in Parkinson’s disease clinical research. These efforts aim to deliver accessible and impactful outcomes for the Parkinson’s community, advancing new treatments and improving quality of life. Stewardship of the Foundation’s brand, mission, and donor funds, while balancing diverse stakeholder perspectives, is crucial to this role.
The ideal candidate should have proven experience in clinical trial development and recruitment. Experience with people at-risk for Parkinson’s is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Input and Execution: Design and execute patient engagement strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. Identify opportunities to enhance patient involvement and influence organizational policies and practices
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient engagement projects. Ensure projects are designed to meet the diverse needs of our patient population and deliver measurable outcomes
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with patient/participant communities, study teams and other stakeholders; facilitating collaboration toward the Foundation’s goals
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to patient engagement activities. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
- Policy and Procedure Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of organizational policies and procedures related to patient engagement. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
Qualifications & Skills:
- Relevant experience in patient engagement or adjacent/relevant field
- Relevant experience developing and executing engagement strategies and plans that support business objectives
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and facilitate collaboration with key opinion leaders and valued external partners, including those in patient/participant communities
- Knowledge of healthcare systems, patient-centered care, and relevant regulatory requirements
- Ability to translate scientific and study concepts into compelling, accessible storytelling and promotional materials
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a track record of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Travel expectation – 10%
Compensation & Benefits
Individual compensation for this role is dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, skillsets, and applicable laws. In addition to salary, the Foundation offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Salary Range
$90,000 - $105,000 USD
