Why We Need You

Under direction of the Operations Manager, Event Strategy, Sales & Operations (ESSO), this position is responsible for supporting event(s) sold & coordinated by the ESSO department. Major duties include ensuring that a client's expectations are met, adherence to the Museum's policies and standard operating procedures, as well as clear/concise event documentation post-event.

Schedule: This position does not have a set weekly schedule or guaranteed hours. Shifts are assigned based on the Museum's event calendar, and candidates must be flexible and available to work a variety of days, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.


What You’ll Accomplish

  • Support Event Operations: Works as a contributing team member, under the on-site direction & guidance of the Lead Function Coordinator.
  • Prepare Event Spaces: Sets necessary signage, parking validator, coat check tags (as needed), etc. to help welcome guests.
  • Confirm Event Setups: Helps confirm accurate set-ups (floorplans - tables/chairs, AV, etc.).
  • Monitor Event Execution: Stays proactive & vigilant throughout the event to communicate any problems/challenges that arise to the Lead.
  • Support Guest Safety: Oversees arrival, movement & departure of guests to ensure safety.
  • Document Event Outcomes: Ensures clear/concise event documentation post-event.

 

What We’re Looking For (Competencies)

  • General knowledge & understanding of the work environment; HS Diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year or more of event coordination experience
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated verbal & written communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm & function when working in challenging situation

Salary Range

$20 - $21.99 USD
