ROLE OVERVIEW
Thiess is accepting applications for a Project Manager role to support project development across a number of civil focused earthworks projects. The Project Manager will manage the development of projects and ultimately transition into safe, efficient, cost effective and innovative project management to ensure all targets are achieved as per contract and budgetary requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Extensive knowledge of civil and construction project management including heavy civil earthworks
- Skills in earthworks, mining methods, engineering, and planning
- Demonstrated capability in dynamic construction-based activities
- Understanding of equipment maintenance and operation
- Competence in project planning
- Proficient financial, commercial and contractual acumen
- Demonstrates leadership qualities and experience managing medium to large teams
- Understanding of risk management and incident investigation principles
- Cost control and financial accounting skills
- Well-developed written and oral communication, negotiating and influencing skills
- Strong ability to build and maintain positive client relationships
- Proficient in MS Office and JDE (ERP)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Occasional in-state, out-of-state, and out-of-country travel to meet with suppliers or perform site visits
- Ability to attend and participate in meetings
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at time
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Relevant certifications
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Authorization to work lawfully in the USA without sponsorship from Thiess is required
- Must be fluent in the English language
- Domestic and Regional travel required
- Full-Time position – this will be on site at a project, hours will vary
- Current, valid passport
