Role Summary: The Regional CTO is a visionary technology leader responsible for driving innovation, technical excellence, and strategic growth across a designated region for Thoughtworks. This role demands a blend of deep technical expertise, business acumen, and the ability to inspire and empower teams to deliver transformative solutions for our clients. 

The regions are: Americas (including LATAM), Europe (including India & Middle East), APAC (including China).

Key Metric 1: Region is a recognised industry tech leader in core differentiator 

Key Metric 2: # of Deals in new potential services/emerging tech (Horizon 2 and 3)   

Key Metric 3: demonstrate ability to predict the trend and turn into H1 work 

Key Metric 4: Holds & impacts key executive relationships  Billable utilization is 30% URVE 

Responsibilities: 

1. Client Advisory and Billable Expertise (~30% of your time) 

a. Act as a trusted technology advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance on complex technology challenges and opportunities. 

b. Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, acting as an escalation point for technical issues 

c. Support strategically aligned presales activities

d. Evolve Knowledge: Continuously develop expertise to anticipate and address future client problems, ensuring relevance and impact. 

2. Navigate hype cycles 

a. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities to leverage them for competitive advantage. 

b. Coordinate Market Sensing activities in your region to share this knowledge c. Shareback market signals with global peers and service line leaders to build a wholistic response that resonates across all our markets and regions d. Participate in Technology Strategy creation 

3. Tech Radar and telescope reports 

a. Shareback insights with our analysis & research teams to add market context to our reports, research and analysis 

4. Ecosystem activation 

a. Technology strategy activation within our ecosystem 

b. Exchange insights with market partners through conferences, one-on-one meetings, board or executive presentations, and media interactions. c. Represent Thoughtworks as a thought leader in the technology community, speaking at conferences, publishing articles, and participating in industry forums. 

d. Contribute to the company's brand building efforts, promoting its technical expertise and innovative solutions. 

5. Cultivate and Elevate Talent 

a. Mentor and Develop Talent: Foster diversity and growth among upcoming technical leaders in your speciality area, ensuring a pipeline of skilled and innovative talent within Thoughtworks, with a focus on underrepresented minorities. 

b. Promote Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to the creation and dissemination of best practices, case studies, and technical content to enhance internal knowledge and capabilities. 

6. Manage direct and dotted line reports.

Extensive experience and expertise in tws core differentiators (software engineering, data management, and system architecture). 

Proven track record of technology leadership and strategic thinking; aligning technical innovation with business goals.

Expected Duration and Location: This is a full-time role, with expectations for global travel to support Thoughtworks' clients and represent the company at industry events. The regional CTO will be based in their respective region but must engage with global teams and stakeholders. 

Eligibility and Selection Process: Candidates who meet the criteria are eligible to apply. The selection process will include presentations to a selection committee to demonstrate the candidate's vision and approach to the role.
