About the Finance Team
The Thumbtack Finance team’s mission is to be a strategic finance partner to the business to enable better business decisions that are supported by data while building a world class finance function and to do it all with integrity.
About the Role
As Senior Manager, Corporate FP&A (OpEx), you will lead the monthly forecast, annual planning and long range planning processes for Thumbtack with a focus on operating expenses. You will lead a team of analysts on the journey to become business and strategic partners. You will be responsible for preparing and consolidating business performance commentary including underlying drivers and variance analysis with a focus on our cost structure. This includes close collaboration with senior leadership and presentations to finance leadership. You will scale financial systems and play a critical role in helping Thumbtack become public company ready.
What you’ll do
- Lead company wide headcount and operating expense forecasting
- Lead annual planning, monthly forecasting & close processes
- Develop and communicate the company's cost structure narrative for Board decks, month-end close, forecasts, annual plans, and long-range plans, including process management and presentations to senior leadership
- Serve as a key business partner to all cross-functional teams, including Sales, Success, Service, Trust & Safety, Marketing, Engineering, Design, Data Science, People, IT, Legal, Recruiting, HR and Accounting
- Support the Accounting team with month-end close activities such as variance analysis
- Scale and improve FP&A systems (e.g., Adaptive) and processes to enhance productivity and accuracy
- Manage cross-functional ad hoc projects requiring FP&A input to support management and business decisions
In order to be successful, you must bring
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
- 5+ years of Corporate FP&A experience
- Experienced people manager: Track record of building and developing team members
- Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills, using key tools within Excel and G-Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization
Expected salary ranges
- For candidates living in San Francisco / Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, or Seattle metros, the expected salary range for the role is currently $193,800 - $236,800.
- For candidates living in Austin, TX or Washington DC metros or in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states, the expected salary range for the role is currently $174,400 - $213,200.
- For candidates living in all other US locations, the expected salary range for this role is currently $164,700 - $201,300.
Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role.
