ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Project Manager in Finance Operations - with a background in Consulting, Operations, Finance, or Technology - to drive a portfolio of critical projects focused on strengthening our control environment and significantly reducing operational risk. This role requires a dynamic individual with a proven ability to deliver complex projects at pace, while effectively collaborating with diverse teams and managing senior stakeholder expectations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring projects that enhance our internal controls, streamline processes, and mitigate potential risks across various operational areas. This position demands a strong understanding of project management methodologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Things you’ll be doing:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies for multiple concurrent projects.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with strategic goals.
- Employ appropriate project management methodologies to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure adherence to deadlines and budgets.
- Stakeholder Management and Communication:
- Collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Operations, Risk, Tech, Product, and external technology partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships, and facilitate effective communication and collaboration with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Provide regular and transparent project updates to senior stakeholders, including progress reports, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all project documentation is maintained to a high standard.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You have at least six years of work experience in finance, consulting, technology or operations - preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- You are organised – can deliver complex projects spanning multiple work streams and functional areas.
- You are responsible – we need to be able to trust you to own projects with minimal oversight, but to bring in help when needed.
- You are proactive – you’ll need to enjoy the challenge of continuously improving processes and always be on the hunt for the next problem that needs to be fixed!
- You have to have a strong attention to detail – you need a sixth sense for when things don’t look right and the conviction to investigate whether it’s a larger problem!
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English – you’ll be explaining the root causes of problems to management and working with providers to get to the bottom of problems.
- You are resilient – you’re willing to spend the time it takes to discover where a problem lies and not stop until it’s solved.
- You are customer-focused and a team player.
