Brokerage Senior Accountant
Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Brokerage Senior Accountant to support financial operations and manage full-cycle accounting responsibilities for an introducing broker. This role is essential for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial records and regulatory reporting requirements within a fast-paced trading environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the general ledger process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Manage financial transactions, including assets, liabilities, equity, and expenses, including prepaids and accruals, and commission calculations and reconciliations.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Prepare and review financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory filings (NFA) and produce or contribute to producing regulatory filings.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Manage accounts payable and employee expense reporting.
- Manage corporate credit cards.
- Reconcile bank account activity.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax reporting.
- Monitor and report on commissions, affiliate payouts, trader-performance related revenues.
- Track and reconcile trade activity and fees.
- Track, report, and maintain adjusted net capital on a continuous basis.
- Evaluate and enhance financial systems, processes, and controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Participate in special projects, initiatives, and cross-functional teams as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications and Key Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years within a brokerage, trading firm, or financial services organization
- Strong knowledge of general ledger functions, financial reporting, and GAAP
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and environments (NFA)
- Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with internal controls, audits, and compliance regulations.

New Hire Base Salary Range
- $90,000-$115,000
- Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
- The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
