United States - East US
We are seeking a seasoned Sr. Director of US Legal to lead and scale our US commercial legal team. This is a high-impact leadership role, ideal for a dynamic and business-minded legal counsel with deep expertise in commercial transactions, particularly within enterprise SaaS and cybersecurity.
You will be the key legal partnerto our go-to-market and revenue teams, being a close collaborator to Sales, Marketing and Product teams and leadership. You’ll also lead and build a lean, high-performing US commercial legal team, supporting hyper-growth while safeguarding Torq’s legal and regulatory interests.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all aspects of US commercial legal activity, including drafting, negotiating, and closing complex SaaS commercial agreements including MSAs, DPAs, SOWs, and channel/reseller contracts.
- Partner closely with Sales, Security, Product, and Finance teams to align legal guidance with business teams and accelerate deal cycles.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing legal guidance on commercial, product, and operational issues.
- Serve as a strategic advisor on contract risk, regulatory requirements (e.g., CCPA, GDPR, GLBA), and data privacy matters relevant to cybersecurity and enterprise SaaS
- Develop and refine scalable legal frameworks, templates, processes, and training programs.
- Stay ahead of legal and regulatory trends that impact enterprise SaaS and cybersecurity in areas such as AI-related terms, and contractual compliance.
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of legal experience, including significant in-house experience at high-growth, global SaaS companies.
- Demonstrated success leading commercial legal functions, including team leadership, strategic projects, and cross-functional influence.
- Deep knowledge of enterprise software contracting, IP, data privacy, security frameworks, and technology licensing. - Experience and Knowledge in Cybersecurity section and AI compliance - a big plus
- Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong business judgment and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
- Passion for innovation, leadership, and enabling go-to-market success through legal excellence.
- Experience supporting complex deal cycles, especially with Fortune 500 customers, partners, channels etc.
