Revenue Manager - Direct

Position Overview:

Define and execute the commercial sales and revenue strategies to maximize the margin potential of Travix’s direct-to-consumer eCommerce channel through pricing actions, identifying opportunities in product innovation and diversifying revenue streams. This role sits alongside a Pricing and Data oriented peer, and together you will provide guidance, mentorship and strategic direction to optimize the commercial performance of the DTC brands across our key markets. You will liaise with the Content team to ensure that air ticket fare competitiveness and health are maintained, particularly in enabling margin growth. You will work in tandem with the Commercial Finance BP in forecasting, analysis and driving accountability on downstream sales funnel performance, including conversion rate improvements and providing insights for product enhancements. This role reports into the E-Commerce Director and act as a member of the Direct management team together with marketing channel leads in driving the long-term margin and brand-value growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives to continuously improve pricing and commercial results of flights and ancillary (cross & upsell), in close partnership with the content and product teams.
  • Be a critical member of strategic projects such as identifying and quantifying new revenue streams, such as other verticals (accommodation, ground transportation, tours and activities).
  • Maintain a close relationship with the Commercial Finance Business Partner (CFBP), providing holistic insights from your team to input into forecasts, budgets and long-term strategic plans.
  • Ensure adherence to achieving the commercial and financial performance targets set (budget, forecasts, etc.) through the effective steering of your team and cross-functional peers.
  • Ensure a productive working relationship with the Travix E-Commerce team, providing the best-fit pricing and revenue management insights and proposals to complement the marketing initiatives and investments to maximize the top-line performance and produce positive ROI.
  • Use data from multiple sources to conduct market analysis and decision making.
  • Lead regular report-outs of commercial results and actions with stakeholders, particularly in close collaboration with the CFBP
  • You work with cross-functional teams to deliver commercial goals and play a key role in influencing, advising and ensuring the implementation of the right tactics for the Direct channel.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in a commercial analytics or relevant role(s). 
  • University Degree (Masters is an advantage) in Econometrics, Business Administration or comparable
  • Strong understanding of pricing, business operations, economics, and business intelligence.
  • Strong commercial (sales) acumen, including negotiation, GTM processes and revenue management particularly in an eCommerce environment
  • Practical exposure to Product Management in a direct or partnering capacity
  • Expertise in the use of analytics, statistics and visualization tools, such as Looker, Tableau.  
  • Skills with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL) is an advantage. A willingness to learn is essential.
  • Experience in an eCommerce-company and/or the Travel Industry is an advantage.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both verbally and written.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven record of leveraging data analysis to drive change 
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively interact with senior leadership to lead, guide and influence decision making
  • Self-starter, flexible, team player and proactive.
