The Role
At Trellis, data isn’t a sidekick, it’s the driver’s seat.
We help millions of Americans shop smarter for insurance through real-time data, ML-driven recommendations, and a seamless digital experience. Now we’re looking for a Product Analytics Lead who’s obsessed with turning messy, high-volume data into insights that shape strategy, product direction, and growth.
You’ll partner with engineers, PMs, and execs to answer big questions, build scalable data foundations, and connect the dots between numbers and outcomes. You’ll own our Looker environment, define what “success” means for every product launch, and make sure every decision is rooted in signal, not noise.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role, reporting into VP of Data, Keith Schreer.
We believe in paying competitively for great work. As a remote team, we set our salaries at the 75th percentile of national market data in our industry. You can count on your pay being in line with (or above) the market. For this role, the base salary range is $185,000-$195,000. We review compensation twice a year to make sure we’re staying competitive and rewarding our team’s contributions.
Your tasks will include:
- Be the signal in the noise. Mine our rich event and transaction data (hundreds of millions of records) to uncover what drives user conversion, retention, and engagement.
- Design and own core KPIs. Define metrics that actually matter, build clean Looker models, and make sure every stakeholder sees the same truth.
- Ship insights, not decks. Turn data into decisions, you'll influence product roadmaps, marketing strategies, and operational efficiency through actionable analytics.
- Experiment and measure impact. Design A/B tests, evaluate product changes, and help teams iterate faster and smarter.
- Build data muscle. Partner with engineers to improve data pipelines, modeling standards, and observability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally. Work with affiliates, sales ops, and exec leadership to drive performance across our marketplace and insurance agency.
You should have:
- 5+ years of experience in a product, growth, or data analytics role (ideally in consumer tech, fintech, or marketplaces).
- Master-level SQL skills (BigQuery or equivalent) and the ability to wrangle large, complex datasets with speed and confidence.
- Experience building in Looker/LookML (bonus if you’ve built or rebuilt data models from scratch).
- Comfort with A/B testing design and statistical analysis, you know the difference between correlation and causation.
- Clear, persuasive communication; you can explain a regression to a PM and a roadmap tradeoff to an exec.
- Bonus points for experience in Python, dbt, or other modern data-stack tools.
