QA Automation Engineer II (Java)

The Tripadvisor QA team works closely with product managers and developers on a daily basis, adhering to the company's "speed wins" philosophy of getting things done quickly and efficiently. With new build releases every two weeks, QA works under an aggressive timeline to ensure the app passes all requirements before release to the public. 

 

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with strong Java skills to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing automated test scripts and executing them against native app applications. You will be responsible for working with the development and product teams to identify areas where automated testing can be applied, and then creating automation tests to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Java and Appium
  • Execute automated test suites and analyze test results to ensure product quality
  • Work closely with the development and product teams to identify and prioritize areas for automation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all quality standards are met
  • Identify and report defects, and work with the development team to resolve issues
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to the automation tests and processes
  • Continuously improve the automation framework and processes to increase test efficiency and effectiveness

 

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in QA Automation testing
  • Strong programming skills in Java
  • Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium or Appium
  • Experience in web and/or mobile application testing
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
