Head of Product
About us
TruffleHog is a popular open source tool used by security researchers all over the world to find leaky API keys and responsibly disclose them to affected companies. This provides income through bug bounty platforms like HackerOne to individuals that may otherwise have a hard time finding employment. This also prevents breaches from occurring, which can be very costly for companies to resolve.
When we founded Truffle Security Co. in February of 2021, we committed to continue to grow a community with security researchers around the world, and continue to provide free and open resources to support those that make the world more secure. We have a strong commitment to open source and to the community. We’re looking for help supporting our mission to prevent leaking credentials and build the best products for machine identity protection.
At Truffle, you’ll have the opportunity to join a fully remote, collaborative team contributing to meaningful advancements in cybersecurity.
About the role
Truffle Security is on a mission to make secrets easier. As our Head of Product, you’ll define and champion the vision for TruffleHog Enterprise, guiding how security teams around the world discover and manage secrets. This role is for a true product leader — someone who thrives on uncovering customer needs, crafting elegant solutions, and rallying teams around a shared vision.
You’ll join a leadership team with deep roots as security engineering practitioners and a strong product vision that are technical and passionate about product craftsmanship. Together, you’ll turn ideas into outcomes that make TruffleHog indispensable to modern security programs.
What you'll be working on
- Shape the Product Vision: Define and continuously refine the “why” and “where next” for TruffleHog Enterprise — ensuring the product evolves in ways that excite customers and inspire engineers.
- Dive Deep into Ideation: Engage closely with users, prospects, and internal teams to uncover problems worth solving. Translate customer insights into powerful narratives and cohesive user journeys.
- Inspire Cohesion: Build alignment across design, engineering, and go-to-market through storytelling, clarity, and context. Your work turns strategy into a product people love to use and teams love to build.
- Champion the Customer: Ground every roadmap decision in real-world use cases, ensuring features connect meaningfully to customer workflows.
- Build and Scale the Product Function: Establish foundational product management processes and grow the team—starting with hiring, mentoring, and developing a Product Manager.
What we're looking for
- Deep Product Craft: 10+ years of experience leading product strategy or technical teams, with a foundation in security engineering (such as Application, Infrastructure, or Cloud Security) and a proven transition into product management.
- Strategic Vision + Tactical Intuition: You can move fluidly between high-level product strategy and detailed UX or technical discussions.
- Customer-Centric Thinker: Skilled at synthesizing feedback and research into actionable insights and inspiring product narratives.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Able to connect engineering, design, and customer teams around a shared sense of purpose and direction.
- Strong Communicator: You bring energy and clarity to written and verbal communication — whether aligning a roadmap or telling the story of why something matters.
- Experience Building and Leading Teams: Proven ability to hire, mentor, and develop Product Managers while scaling a high-performance product organization.
Salary range: The target salary range for this position is between $200,000 - $255,000. Starting salary will vary based on job-related skills, knowledge, and experience. Leveling will be determined during the interview process. You may also be offered a bonus, stock options, and benefits. These salary ranges are subject to change, and we encourage candidates outside of this salary range to apply.
