Programmable DNA, the software of Life, is finally here! Twist Bioscience is developing a disruptive Synthetic DNA technology that will change the world, enabling widespread health and sustainability. Synthetic biologists will use our products to engineer how organisms produce cures to diseases, make everyday chemicals by using the atmosphere as the carbon source, enable plants to make their own fertilizers, and to create in-vivo diagnostics that alert us when we are sick, and many more applications.

In this role, you will develop, manage and assist in the sale of Twist’s NGS & SynBio products through the distributors/ Channel partners in the KOSEA region. Your primary role is to manage and liaise with our current channel partners and provide the appropriate tactical support required to grow our NGS and synthetic biology product lines. The role will work closely with the regional NGS and synthetic biology directors and sales/ marketing teams to ensure appropriate assistance and information is provided to enable understanding of the Twist portfolio and help to promote the Twist portfolio to ensure that targets and met or exceeded targets, and develop and grow Twist’s distributor sales in line with the company’s objectives.

 Key Responsibilities

  • In close collaboration with portfolio directors, prioritize markets and determine market entry strategies for new regions and for new and existing product portfolios by selecting and developing the appropriate channel partner.

 

  • Establish and lead regular meetings and conference calls with distributors.

 

  • Work with sales directors to understand channel partner specific targets and on a weekly/ biweekly basis ensure that sales pipeline is well understood and monitored, and ultimately communicated to the sales directors to maintain forecast accuracy to the business.

 

  • Work with channel partners on marketing needs to ensure brand awareness is generated to grow qualified leads that will lead to revenue 

 

  • Provide and maintain pricing structure for channel partners and manage discount requests

 

  • Develop an understanding of current and future market trends that may impact Twist Bioscience sales and utilize the data to ensure TWIST has the right partner strategy.

 

  • Develop a coordinate training schedule for channel partners to ensure continual improvement in capability, knowledge, customer service, performance and profitability.

 

  • Work with portfolio directors and marketing to implement new sales strategies and marketing techniques in an effort to increase brand awareness and demand for Twist product. 

 

  • Prepare and execute quarterly reviews of distributors.

 

  • Work and assist the dealers/ Channel partners on marketing plans and attend trade exhibitions.

 

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with distributors and other members of the Twist Bioscience team.

 

  • Other related tasks as required.

  • Distributor sales activities meet the objectives set in conjunction with the Sales Director.
  • Distributors are equipped with the necessary skills and training to increase performance and profitability.
  • Customer support and training capabilities of distributors is improved through ongoing product training and support.
  • Customer relationships are maintained and improved through exceptional customer service. Budgets are well managed and adhered to.
  • Operating costs are managed and improved, achieving continual growth and profitability.
  • Reporting is of a high quality and administered in a timely manner.
  • Company processes are adhered to and improved through innovative thinking.

What You'll Bring to Twist/ Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in life science or biomedical engineering.
  • Significant sales/ channel partner management experience, >5 years.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to motivate distributors and effectively engage with customers.
  • Experience in identifying new channels in new / uncovered business segments
  • Ability to develop training programs for distributors.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, with the ability to think innovatively and work independently.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability and track record in building strong relationship and networking skills.
  • Commercially astute with strong negotiating skills.
  • Proven experience conducting market analysis and identifying new territories.
  • A high level of business acumen.
  • Ability to work with people across different cultures and nationalities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • The drive and commitment to achieve personal and company goals.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.com is desirable.
  • The ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally, when required.
