Full Stack Software Engineer

Arlington, Virginia

At Two Six Technologies, we build, deploy, and implement innovative products that solve the world’s most complex challenges today. Through unrivaled collaboration and unwavering trust, we push the boundaries of what’s possible to empower our team and support our customers in building a safer global future.

Overview of Opportunity

We are looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join one of our Stream-Aligned feature teams. In this role, you will own customer-facing product features end-to-end within a single, unified monorepo. We operate on a T-shaped engineering philosophy: we expect you to bring deep expertise in your favorite area of the stack, combined with the technical curiosity and empathy to navigate the other layers. You will work alongside a team of cross-functional full stack developers, taking features from initial concept down through the database schema, API logic, and user interface in a single pull request.

What You Will Do:

  • Deliver Vertical Product Value: Own the technical design, implementation, and deployment of features end-to-end. You will solve complex problems and write code across the user interface, API endpoints, and database models to ship complete slices of user value, incorporating AI tools to enhance your workflow and support your decision-making.
  • Practice Full-Context Code Reviews: Review your teammates’ full-stack pull requests. You will look at the entire feature context rather than just a single layer to ensure overall code readability and maintainability.
  • Incorporate Automated Quality: Write automated unit and integration tests alongside your feature code as part of your standard development loop, ensuring your features are safe and resilient before deployment.
  • Contribute to Shared Frameworks: Identify common patterns in your feature work and work to contribute reusable components or helpers to the shared development platform.
  • Collaborate and Swarm: Participate in daily team huddles focused on moving shared objectives forward. You will pair-program and swarm with teammates to clear blockers and solve challenging problems.
  • Shape Global Architecture: Represent your team's technical insights by actively participating in our cross-functional architecture guilds to guide standard company patterns.

What We Are Looking For

  • T-Shaped Engineering Mindset: At least 1 year of software engineering experience with a recognized anchor specialty (e.g., strong frontend capabilities or backend architecture) paired with a solid working knowledge of the rest of the stack.
  • Full-Stack Capability: Comfort modifying relational database schemas, writing API endpoints, and assembling modern component-driven user interfaces.
  • Systems Thinker: A strong understanding of continuous delivery principles. Success for you means shipping value in small, frequent, and stable increments.
  • Technical Humility: A passion for peer mentoring and pairing. You care more about team velocity and clean communication than proving a single technical point
  • Security Clearance: Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance up to TS/SCI

Our Tech Stack
You don’t need to be an expert in all of these, but you should be excited to work with them daily!

  • Frontend: TypeScript, Ember.js
  • Backend & APIs: Python, FastAPI
  • Database: PostgreSQL, Avro schema
  • Infrastructure & Platform: Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins

Why This Role is Unique
You will not be confined to a functional silo or forced to pass your code over a wall to a separate backend, database, or testing department. You will have full ownership of your domain's codebase. Backed by a self-service Platform Team providing you with the tools you need to thrive, you will have the freedom and resources to build, test, and ship your own ideas while expanding your breadth of knowledge across the stack.
