About the Role

Uber Freight is seeking a hands-on 1st shift Warehouse Supervisor to lead daily shift operations in our Charlotte facility. Having opened just 16 months ago, this site operates in a dynamic, startup-style environment, giving this leader an incredible opportunity to make an immediate, lasting impact on the facility's culture and success. Reporting to the Senior Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be accountable for safety, quality, on-time delivery, and the active development of your team.

This is a 60/40 hands-on/admin role, meaning you will lead by example—operating a forklift alongside your team while managing daily timecards, safety compliance, and operational workflows. Through continuous coaching and a prevention-based safety culture, you will drive high-performance results and deliver exceptional service to our customers.

What You Will Do

  • Operations Management: Direct daily shift workflows, manage labor hours, allocate resources, and ensure the warehouse remains clean, orderly, and fully compliant with safety regulations (targeting zero OSHA recordables).
  • Metric & KPI Tracking: Manage daily performance metrics using WMS, TMS, and Excel to identify deviations, drive problem-solving, and execute corrective action plans.
  • Team Leadership: Lead morning huddles, assign work based on company needs, and actively train and develop 7–10 forklift drivers and 2 warehouse clerks.
  • Customer & Cross-Functional Communication: Maintain clear, prompt communication with the Transportation and IC teams to ensure seamless FIFO shipping execution and uphold service-level agreements.
  • Shift Reporting: Complete accurate end-of-shift reports and forecast upcoming workloads.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 4 years of supervision experience within warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Practical experience with warehouse/distribution software, RF scanners, or tablets.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA standards and warehouse safety.
  • At least 2 years of sit-down forklift experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or higher.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and Google Workspace in a supply chain environment.
  • Experience managing transportation processes using a TMS system (Uber Freight TMS a plus).
  • Knowledge of Yard/WMS management tools (Made4Net a plus).
  • Familiarity with SAP systems and supply chain execution modules.

Schedule & Expectations

  • Regular hours are 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Shift flexibility and overtime may be required, including initial training on the 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) for the first two weeks and working one Saturday per quarter for inventory.
