About the role

Uber Freight is looking for a Product Designer to help shape the products and technology that power modern freight and logistics. You’ll design experiences for shippers, carriers, and the teams that operate freight every day - translating complex processes, interconnected systems, and large amounts of data into clear, intuitive, AI-powered workflows.

We’re looking for a designer who combines strong product thinking and craft with curiosity about customers and the systems behind their problems. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations, and other partners to define problems, shape product direction, and deliver experiences that create meaningful customer and business impact.

What you’ll do

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to define product strategy, vision, and roadmaps, then play an active role in bringing those experiences to market
  • Develop a strong understanding of the systems and technical architecture behind our products, using that context to shape scalable interaction patterns and new product capabilities
  • Translate complex logistics workflows, interconnected systems, data, and technical constraints into clear, intuitive experiences across our products
  • Design AI-powered experiences and interaction models that help users understand, decide, and act while building appropriate transparency, control, and trust
  • Craft experiences with exceptional attention to usability, consistency, interaction quality, and visual design, identifying opportunities to raise quality across broader product flows
  • Explore and communicate ideas using the right medium (from sketches and Figma to working prototypes, AI-powered tools, and code where appropriate) and find pragmatic ways to ship high-quality work in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

Basic qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional product design experience, with a track record of designing and shipping complex digital products end-to-end
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong user-centered product thinking, interaction design, systems thinking, and polished UI craft
  • Experience navigating ambiguous, complex product problems and translating them into clear, scalable experiences
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across Product, Engineering, and other disciplines to shape decisions and deliver outcomes
  • Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools to explore ideas, prototype, or accelerate aspects of your design practice

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience prototyping with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience designing enterprise, operational, logistics, marketplace, data-intensive, or other complex products
  • Experience designing AI-powered products, agentic workflows, or other emerging interaction models
  • Experience working closely with complex technical systems or architectures and translating them into intuitive product experiences
  • Experience contributing to design systems, shared interaction patterns, or broader improvements in product quality
