Position Job Description

Title: Director of Admissions
Department: Admissions
Comp Status: Exempt
Reports To: Campus President


Summary: The Director of Admissions is responsible for ensuring Admissions process functions
smoothly as outlined. Acts in a leadership and supervisory role for Admissions Representatives
and Coordinators, and provides motivation, troubleshooting, and support needed to achieve
performance and activity goals. Demonstrates and reinforces American Institute core values as
outlined. Assists in establishment of school revenue budgets in conjunction with Campus
Director and Regional Director of Admissions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Structures, documents, and implements the Company’s established Policies
    and Procedures for Admissions as outlined, including but not limited to:
    • Evaluate future students by way of in‐person interviews, and refer any
      questionable candidates or issues immediately to the Director of
      Admissions
    • Professionally assist prospective students through the admissions
      processing accordance with all applicable Federal and State regulations
    • Ensure that accurate, timely and thorough student records are created
      in compliance with company standards during the Admissions Process
      and are forwarded to the appropriate departments.
    • Expand the awareness of the School and service within the community
    • Request referrals during and after the enrollment process
    • Convey only accurate and compliance‐approved employment data as
      provided by the school
    • Adequate product knowledge to effectively represent the options
      available to inquiring students at the School
    • Perform 2nd interviews with prospective students
    • Manage inquiry customer service to achieve prompt contact and
      weekly performance activity goals
  • Hires, trains, supervises, evaluates and replaces staff as needed to ensure qualitative
    and quantitative objectives are achieved in Admissions process
  • Develops, documents, and implements ongoing program of professional training
    for Admissions Representatives and Coordinators
  • Provides management accurate weekly performance reports related to
    recruitment effectiveness and future start population
  • Conducts weekly Admissions meeting
  • Facilitates interdepartmental communications between Admissions, Financial Aid,
    Education and Placement departments to enhance Admission process and to
    create a positive atmosphere in each area
  • Recommends course offerings, timing, representative compensation or operational
    issues of interest to enhance Admissions process
  • Ensures adequate, accurate, and timely student records are created during
    Admissions process and such records are forwarded to the appropriate departments
  • Structures and participates in self‐improvement program in management techniques
    and school Admissions practices, including responding to internal and external
    compliance and regulatory audits/reviews
  • Conducts regular performance appraisals of Admissions Representatives and
    Coordinators
  • Mandatory attendance at school graduation
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees in the Admissions department.
    Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and
    applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;
      appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent written, telephone, & verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc) and CampusVue
  • Ability to achieve success individually and as part of a team
  • Mature, positive, and collaborative interpersonal skills with both staff and students
  • Possesses a thorough and demonstrable level of knowledge of school programs
  • Possesses a thorough and demonstrable level of knowledge of Federal and
    State regulations
  • Successfully completes and conducts AI admission training
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3‐4 years minimum experience in Admissions

 

Anticipated starting salary is based on experience and qualifications.

Compensation Range

$80,000 - $90,000 USD
