Understood Care matches Medicare patients with an assistant with healthcare expertise (known as a Patient Advocate). Patient Advocates help patients with anything patients need in order to access care - booking appointments, finding transportation, ordering medical equipment and much more.

The role:

 We are seeking a detail-oriented proactive AR Collections Specialist to join our remote team. You will support our revenue cycle by managing accounts receivable assisting patients with billing questions and working closely with insurers to ensure timely resolution of claims and balances.

Responsibilities:

• Work assigned accounts receivable (A/R) aging reports and queues
• Follow up with insurance companies and payers to resolve denials payment delays or other issues
  Collaborate with patient advocates and leadership to identify trends provide solutions and improve processes
• Provide excellent patient customer service by addressing balance inquiries and resolving billing issues
• Validate or enter patient demographics and charges as needed
• Escalate complex issues to leadership as appropriate

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in medical billing insurance follow-up or accounts receivable
• Familiarity with Medicare Medicaid and managed care claims preferred
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

Role:

This is a full time role (40 hours a week).
