Head of Office, Dubai

We are looking for a Head of Office to join Translation to help build and establish a presence for Translation in its first global expansion in Dubai. With existing and potential clients in the region, be a strategic leader to think about growth from all aspects including but not limited to our physical office and staff, our approach to new business and growth of our existing client in the region. 

What You'll Do

  • Partner with key Executive Leadership to understand the broader Translation culture and develop a POV on how that will come to life and translate to the Translation Dubai office in terms of physical space and staff hiring/development 
  • Develop a tactical plan in partnership with CFO on physical office development including but not limited to office set up, needs and other infrastructure needs 
  • Develop a tactical plan with People team, Head of Client Services and Head of Operations on staff pipeline and hiring including strategic point of view on priority order talent, interviewing key personnel and being on the ground manager for direct and indirect reports
  • Partner with CMO to develop a new business lead generation and opportunity pipeline strategy based on understanding of the region, key business problems ripe for disruption and Translation unique value position as a creative solutions leader
  • Partner with the communications team to leverage the new office news as an opportunity to drum up excitement and opportunity for new business 
  • Execute lead generation strategy with meetings with key prospects and attendance of relevant industry events to represent Translation 
  • Partner with UnitedMasters leadership to help identify expansion opportunity for the music business 
  • Be the senior leader across existing clients in the region overseeing the partnership at large and developing meaningful in person relationships with key clients
  • Create and execute a plan for retention and organic growth of existing clients by understanding their business problems and finding incremental opportunities for Translation to help solve 
  • Liaise closely with North American team and leadership in the effective and efficient operations of creative work utilizing resources across all offices 
  • Be knowledgeable about key issues, competitive situation, industry trends, and how they affect the projects assigned to the company as well as other client partners

  • Be a clear, charismatic leader with the energy to lead a developing office and with whom clients are excited to meet and building relationships with
  • Possess and deliver excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to present thoughts clearly, accurately, and succinctly
  • Demonstrate, evangelize, and live the core values of the company 
  • Incorporate the passion, excitement, and experience of one’s MINOR in relevant ways that inform the quality and output of the agency’s deliverables
  • Possess and encourage high degrees of initiative, drive, energy, accountability, creativity, and maturity
  • Possess superior scope/budget stewardship, time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Have the proven ability to work in a robust and agile environment, while consistently paying attention to accuracy and quality of work
  • Demonstrated ability to find new ways to retain and grow client relationships beyond the core scope
  • Make certain the company’s presentation support materials are consistent with clients’ expectations of the agency’s quality  

Minimum Qualifications 

  • 15+ years experience of business development and/or client service
  • Dubai based with willingness to regularly travel (permanent candidates only)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building and/or working in a small, start up environment and/or smaller office as part of a larger organization
  • 4 year college degree
  • Digitally savvy, Google-suite proficient
