Creative Marketing Analyst

Chicago, Illinois, United States; Nashville, Tennessee, United States

Who You Are

You are a curious, analytical thinker who believes data isn't just a collection of numbers - it’s a narrative waiting to be told. Armed with a foundational understanding of marketing channels, strong critical thinking skills, and a baseline tech toolkit, you don't just look at a dashboard to report the "what." You look for the "why." You see yourself as a translator ready to turn raw metrics into compelling stories that shape creative and strategic decisions.

As a Marketing Analyst, you will turn that vision into reality by bridging the gap between data and strategy. From day one, you will own the synthesis of performance metrics across multiple channels, using a variety of tools, like dashboards, agents, and AI workflows to evaluate how Unlock’s work moves the needle. You will collaborate closely with our media, strategy, and content teams to dig into performance, proactively identifying tool updates and offering actionable recommendations for optimization.

This is a client-facing role where you will present monthly reports with confidence using storytelling techniques to ensure clients truly comprehend and value our insights.

What You’ll Do

  • Create narrative-driven performance reports that synthesize marketing, media, web, and client data into a clear story, highlighting what changed, why it may have happened, and what teams should do next.
  • Utilize pre-built dashboards and tools to extract key insights, while proactively identifying and flagging required modifications to support team and client needs.
  • Integrate generative AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude into your daily workflow to brainstorm ideas, analyze text, and streamline reporting efficiencies.
  • Apply strong critical thinking to look past rows of numbers, uncovering the human behaviors, trends, and performance stories hidden within the data.
  • Take complex performance information and deliver it directly to clients with confidence, clarity, and an engaging presentation style during monthly and quarterly presentations.
  • Act as a collaborative, client-facing teammate to build trust and seamlessly partner with Media, Strategy, and Client Experience teams to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Leverage specialized tools to research competitor landscapes and client industries, transforming raw market data into actionable insights that educate and empower our internal teams.
  • Support the development of measurement frameworks and test structures that define what success looks like before work launches, helping teams set clear KPIs, configure meaningful A/B or multivariate tests, and evaluate performance with confidence.
  • Utilize strong organizational and time-management skills to balance multiple client tracks, ensuring polished monthly performance reports are delivered flawlessly and on time.

What You Bring

  • 1-3 years of professional experience in marketing, analytics, or digital media (highly successful internships count).
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, with experience in analytics or business strategy.
  • A solid understanding of core marketing concepts and metrics, digital channels, tracking methodologies, paired with exposure to a fast-paced agency environment where managing multiple client tracks is the norm.
  • A natural storytelling instinct and creative curiosity, including the ability to find what is interesting in the data and communicate it in a way that is clear, engaging, and memorable.
  • A proven ability to look at rows of data and translate them into a clear, compelling narrative finding the human behavior behind the numbers.
  • A practical understanding of how data is structured, connected, and transformed into insight, with comfort learning tools like Tableau, Excel, dashboards, and AI workflows.
  • Experience presenting data or project findings (in classrooms, internships, or past roles) with clarity and enthusiasm; you are eager to step into a client-facing spotlight.
  • Strong analytical skills paired with an appetite for solving puzzles, questioning data anomalies, and finding the opportunities in the noise.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a track record of meeting strict project deadlines while collaborating across multiple teams or departments.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
