About the Role:

At Upgrade, the Platform team works horizontally with our different engineering teams. We build tools and shared libraries to simplify / abstract / speedup the day to day of our developers.

Part of the Platform group, the tooling squad is responsible for multiple tools used by our product teams to build, test and ship their services up to production.

We are seeking a passionate and curious Senior Software Developer to help drive the Platform roadmap at Upgrade. You’ll have the opportunity to learn and work with different programming languages, on different technologies. Join us!

Projects in flight:

  • Rebuild our internal tool used to provision Kubernetes development stacks on-demand
  • Renovate our build and continuous deployment infrastructure
  • Mergebot, an entity which is in charge of automatically merge or decline pull requests depending on a set of policies (moving from JavaScript to Golang)
  • Revamp our GraphQL Federation tooling
  • Build various prototypes exploring how large language models could improve developer experience

Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative tools or enhance existing ones to boost developer productivity and efficiency
  • Work closely with various engineering teams to evaluate the effectiveness of our platform and identify improvement opportunities
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues

Requirements:

  • Proficient in at least one of these programming languages: Golang, Node.js, or Python
  • Proficient in Kubernetes 
  • Experience with microservices architecture and understanding the challenges that come with it
  • Fundamental knowledge of AWS
  • Effective communication abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
