Flex Pay by Upgrade is a fast-growing Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) solution helping retailers drive conversion, increase average order value, and create seamless financing experiences for consumers. We partner with leading retail and e-commerce brands to deliver flexible payment solutions that support growth for both merchants and shoppers. We’re looking for an experienced Account Manager to join our Retail team and help support and grow relationships with our merchant partners. This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in partnerships, customer success, or similar client-facing roles who is looking to continue growing their career in fintech, and e-commerce. This role will work closely with the Retail team, Integrations, Operations, and Marketing to ensure our merchants are successful and growing with Flex Pay.
What You’ll Do
- Manage day-to-day relationships with strategic retail and e-commerce merchant partners
- Support merchant onboarding, implementation, and ongoing account growth initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally with Integrations, Product, Operations, and Marketing teams to improve merchant performance and support problem resolution
- Monitor account health, conduct performance reviews and QBRs, and identify opportunities to drive merchant expansion and engagement
- Coordinate promotional campaigns, launches, and operational updates with partners
- Learn the Flex Pay product suite quickly and become comfortable explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Track account activity and maintain organized reporting within CRM
- Bring a collaborative, proactive, and positive approach to supporting both merchants and internal teams
What We’re Looking For
- 8-10 years of experience in account management, partnerships, customer success, client solutions, or an adjacent role
- Experience managing relationships with C-Suite stakeholders within mid-market or enterprise-level accounts
- Experience working with e-commerce platforms and digital retail ecosystems of various sizes and complexity
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience using AI tools in day-to-day work to improve productivity and communication
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with both business and technical teams
- Tech savvy with the ability to collaborate effectively with implementation teams
- Fast learner who can adapt quickly in a high-growth environment
- Organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented
- Positive attitude and strong team-player mentality
Nice to Have
- MBA or relevant advanced degree in business, strategy, or related field preferred
- Experience working with payment platforms, fintech, BNPL, or SaaS products
- Experience working in fast-paced startup or high-growth company environments

The compensation range of this position is a base salary of USD $140,000 - $160,000 annually, plus uncapped variable compensation, equity and benefits. Within this range, an individual's base pay will be dependent on a variety of factors, including without limitation, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
