About The Team

PlayStation Studios’ AI team is a central resource for AI & machine learning expertise within PlayStation. The team focuses on delivering production AI solutions to our studios and partners—accelerating development workflows and raising game quality. 

What You’ll Do

As an AI Engineer Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience applying AI to real studio challenges and learn how advanced techniques are integrated into tools and pipelines used in game development. You will:

• Track, evaluate, and prototype emerging AI techniques for game-content tools and pipelines; summarize findings and recommend adoption paths.

• Translate research papers into working models: implement, fine-tune, and benchmark algorithms, then package them into usable services/plugins for internal tools and engines.

• Build reliable data pipelines to normalize heterogeneous asset formats (meshes, textures, audio, animation, metadata) into a centralized schema, including conversion/validation scripts and automated ingestion.

What We’re Looking For

• Pursuing a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related technical field with graduation expected between December 2026 and Spring 2027.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.

• Eagerness to learn and apply new AI techniques to practical challenges.

Eligibility

• Students with expected graduation between December 2026 and Spring 2027 from an accredited university. Advanced Degree - PhD

• Able to work during one of the following cohort periods: May 18th - August 7th or June 15th - September 4th. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

• Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.
