Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Graphics Programming Intern to join our high-performance team in San Diego, CA. This is a Summer 2026 internship.

Do you love baseball almost as much as you love video games? Join us at San Diego Studio and work on our MLB® - The Show game series! As a summer Graphics Programming Intern, you’ll collaborate with engineers, animators, and designers to improve the tools that power the game.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with C++ and Python to support asset management, grooming, creation, and visualization tools.

  • Expand in-game editor features using C++.

  • Write unit tests and formalize existing game code to improve quality and reliability.

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience with game engine programming methods and concepts.

  • Practical problem-solving in linear algebra, geometry, and vector math.

  • Real-world development workflows, from writing efficient code to testing game features.

What We’re Looking For

  • Current enrollment in an accredited university Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, with graduation expected between December 2026 and Spring 2027.

  • Knowledge of C, C++, and Python (ImGui experience is a plus).

  • Understanding of STL data structures and algorithms.

  • Strong background in mathematics (linear algebra, geometry, vector math).

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well on a team.

  • Self-motivated and eager to take initiative.

Eligibility

  • Students with expected graduation between December 2026 and Spring 2027 from an accredited university. Advanced Degree - Master’s

  • Able to work during one of the following periods: May 18th - August 7th or June 15th - September 4th. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

  • Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
