What we’re looking for

We are looking for a Community Association Accounting Manager to join our accounting team and support our Vacasa Community Association Management (VCAM) product offering. A person acting in this position must have a desire to lead a growing team and program, a strong understanding of accounting principles. In order for this candidate to be successful, he/she must be a strong leader, highly self-motivated and directed, committed to solving problems efficiently, and interested in being part of an organization committed to continuous growth and improvement. This is a position that must be able to set the standard for integrity, professionalism, and interact with a diverse team.

This position in 100% remote. Ability to work from home and resides in one of the followings states: AK, AL, AZ, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NH, NJ, NM, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, or WY

What you'll do

  • Lead a geographically dispersed team of community association AR & AP bookkeepers ensuring all are trained, effective, and adhere to Vacasa and VCAM policies and procedures
  • Oversight of core accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Customer and vendor relations, internal and external
  • Develop and maintain controls and procedures, adherence to company guidelines
  • Transaction inquiries and fraud management
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of payments (check, ACH, wire, etc)
  • Back-up coverage for regional accounting mangers
  • Meet and maintain VCAM standards and metrics such as ensuring VCAM accounting responsibilities are completed on time and correctly, employee engagement and training, and implementation of VCAM software and systems, among others
  • Special projects and research as assigned

Reports To: VCAM Director of Accounting

Supervisory Responsibility: VCAM AP Bookkeeper(s), VCAM AR Bookkeeper(s)

Skills you'll need

  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
  • A thorough understanding of Community Association laws and regulations as they relate to accounting principles preferred
  • AP and AR software system experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and management competency
  • Proficient in accounting software systems, Appfolio experience a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective communication
  • Demonstrated financial acumen 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional organization
  • Accomplished range of skills from strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and a love for helping others see a path forward
  • Tolerance for ambiguity, and the ability to stay focused on getting results

Compensation:

  • $68600 - $89191 / year. Actual pay will vary based on a candidate's skill, experience, education and/or location.
