Are you a compassionate RN who thrives at the intersection of clinical excellence, coordination, and patient advocacy? Join Vail Health as a Breast Imaging Nurse Navigator and play a vital role in guiding patients through some of the most important—and vulnerable—moments of their care journey.
In this highly impactful role, you’ll serve as a trusted point of contact for patients undergoing breast imaging, biopsies, and follow-up care. You’ll collaborate closely with radiologists, surgeons, oncology teams, and fellow navigators to ensure care is seamless, timely, and truly patient-centered.

What You’ll Do

Serve as the central point of contact for patients requiring follow-up after abnormal breast imaging results

Educate patients on procedures, biopsy expectations, results, follow-up care, and medications
-
Obtain informed consent for breast biopsies and support patients throughout the process
-
Coordinate diagnostic testing, biopsies, MRIs, and outside surgical consults
-
Communicate pathology results to patients and providers with clarity and compassion
-
Collaborate with radiologists, surgeons, pathologists, oncology teams, and navigators to ensure continuity of care

Triage and evaluate patient concerns pre- and post-biopsy, including complications
-
Attend tumor board meetings and support imaging and procedure coordination

Assist during adverse reactions (e.g., vasovagal episodes, lidocaine toxicity)

Maintain quality documentation and uphold HIPAA compliance

What You’ll Need
Experience
-
Oncology and/or Women’s Wellness experience, preferred
-
Familiarity with mammography and breast imaging workflows, preferred
Licensure & Certifications
-
Active RN license in Colorado or compact state, required
-
BLS certification, required
-
Breast Navigator Certification, preferred
Education
-
Associate Degree in Nursing (required for hires after 7/1/2018)

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
Hourly Pay:
$40.56 - $64.68 USD
