The Team

As part of the Business organization, IT & Enterprise Software delivers the technology infrastructure, enterprise applications, and digital tools that power Valar's operations. The team ensures secure, reliable, and scalable technology solutions that support every function across the company.

The Role

We are looking for a versatile IT Engineer to support our users and infrastructure across a mixed Mac, Windows, and mobile environment. This role blends hands-on help desk support with Tier 2 systems administration and network troubleshooting. You will be the go-to technical resource onsite, working independently to resolve issues, maintain systems, and keep our hardware and software assets accurately managed. You will also partner with cross-functional teams to support business operations and ongoing IT initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities 

Help Desk & End-User Support 

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for macOS and Windows laptops, including hardware, software, and connectivity issues. 
  • Support iOS and Android mobile devices, including enrollment, configuration, and troubleshooting. 
  • Troubleshoot and support Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft 365 applications. 
  • Manage user MFA setup and issues with Microsoft Authenticator.
  • Onboard and offboard users, including account provisioning, device setup, and access removal. 

Systems Administration 

  • Light administer Microsoft Intune for Windows and mobile device management, compliance policies, and application deployment. 
  • Light administer Addigy and/or Jamf for macOS device management, configuration profiles, patching, and software distribution. 
  • Light Manage identities, groups, conditional access, and access policies in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). 
  • Support and maintain resources in Microsoft Azure and AWS GovCloud environments. 
  • Perform Tier 2 systems administration tasks including patching, monitoring, backups, and performance troubleshooting. 

Network Support 

  • Perform Tier 2 network troubleshooting, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and switching/routing issues. 
  • Diagnose connectivity problems and escalate to vendors or senior engineers when appropriate. 

Asset & Software Asset Management 

  • Maintain accurate inventory of hardware assets throughout their lifecycle, from procurement and deployment to reallocation and disposal. 
  • Manage software asset management (SAM), including license tracking, compliance, renewals, and usage optimization. 
  • Keep asset records and documentation current and audit-ready. 

Collaboration & Independence 

  • Work with cross-functional teams to support projects, business needs, and technology rollouts. 
  • Operate independently as the primary onsite IT resource, prioritizing and managing workload with minimal supervision. 
  • Create and maintain documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures. 

Basic Qualifications 

  • At least 4 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a related role. 
  • Hands-on experience supporting both macOS and Windows endpoints. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and Addigy and/or Jamf. 
  • Experience supporting iOS and Android devices in a managed environment. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, and AWS GovCloud. 
  • Tier 2 network troubleshooting skills. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook/Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Authenticator. 
  • Experience with hardware and software asset management. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams. 
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in Orangeville, Utah. 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • CompTIA Security+ certification. 
  • Cisco CCNA certification. 
  • Cybersecurity or IT experience gained in the U.S. Air Force or U.S. Navy.
